Keep the Corrado steelies next year or try a different set of wheels?

When I bought this car just over two years ago, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I’d only ever owned Hondas, so buying this half-swapped old VW simply because my grandfather had one turned into a much bigger project than I expected. Along the way, I’ve learned a lot, and made tons of mistakes. I have so many people to thank for their help along the way.

It’s come a long way, but we’re definitely not done yet.

Progress has been slow was hoping to enjoy the car for a few weeks this year but looks like it won’t be on the road until next year. Gives me more time to dial it in figure out seats and source missing parts.

While I’m still picking away making progress thought I would share some old photos of the Scirocco. These are from back in the day around the late 90s/early 2000s. The car from what I understand was used for track days and to potentially promote a business! Super cool to see the life this car lived!

Very excited to show off the newest project! To some this may be a complete surprise, but to those who know me personally you’ll know my grandfather had a Scirocco when I was growing up. When they moved out west he gave me what was left of his 1984 Rocco. It hadn’t run in about 20 years and unfortunately the body is in pretty bad shape. While I’m not completely giving up on his, when this 1989 TT swapped scirocco came up for sale I knew I had to buy it. It just so happens that my grandparents are visiting us for the summer so it’s a perfect opportunity to work on it with my grandfather. So although this isn’t the RSX replacement you may have expected, I’m VERY happy about it (not to mention my grandfather is over the moon!). It needs a lot of TLC I’ve already sorted out a bunch of electrical issuers and I’m hoping to have it road legal in the next week or two!
