Part 1: In November last year I needed a change.
Back story: Between the ages of 18 and 23 I struggled with addiction and it completely took my sparkle away. Drugs for me were an escape into a world that I thought was the real me; careless ‘free’ and ‘more fun’. But deep in the shadows of my cobwebbed brain I knew that I was destined for more than being a shell of myself.
In the middle of 2024 I lost my brother, Riley. He passed due to an overdose. My whole life was tipped upside down and I didn’t know how to live my life without my brother? My whole life it was the 5 of us, now you’re telling me I never get to see, touch or hear his voice again? Although I wasn’t using during this time, it was a huge wake up call for me. Drugs were shit. Drugs ruined my life and caused my brother to lose his life. For the first time in my life I chose myself. I chose to put myself first, and get my sparkle back.
