With it being Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, I figured I’d share a little bit of my story.

This year I was diagnosed with bipolar depression with schizophrenic episodes, as well as panic disorder, following a breakdown that landed me in a crisis residential unit. Almost overnight, it felt like I lost everything. For a long time I kept it to myself because I was afraid of how people would see me, but getting help was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

It’s been a scary and grueling road, and there have been times where it felt like everything was stacked against me. But I’ve learned that there’s always a way forward, and everyone has their own way of finding peace.

For me, music got me through it. It gave me something to hold onto when things were at their worst and helped me find myself again. My friends did the same.

If you’re struggling, don’t live in silence. There is always someone willing to listen, and there is always hope, even when you can’t see it.

True love will find you in the end. by @hunterofficialhq
