I know you guys aren’t going to believe this, but I’ve started doing hot yoga with my daughter Brooke twice a week! 🧘‍♂️🔥

I’m doing it to stay healthy, clear my head, reduce stress, and help me through the grief and mourning I’ve been carrying. I want to keep moving forward and stay positive. I’ve still got a lot of things to do, people to see, and places to go!

Here are a few photos of Brooke and me at my first and second hot yoga classes here in Edmond. And believe it or not, I’m having a blast! I owe that to Brooke for getting me started and doing this with me. I love her so much. ❤️ taken in Body Mind Yoga Edmond by @hunterphd

Tomorrow, July 20, 2026, would have been LuAnn’s and my 53rd wedding anniversary.

We were together for 56 wonderful years, and never in a million years did I imagine our journey here on earth would end so unexpectedly on March 9. Looking back on some of the conversations we had during the last year, I sometimes wonder if she sensed something that I did not.

These past few months have been a tough ride, but I have been blessed beyond measure with a loving family who has stayed close by my side, along with so many wonderful friends and relatives. With their love, support, and prayers, I am making it one day at a time—and I will continue working hard to do that in the years ahead.

I can only pray that my sweet LuAnn is no longer hurting or in pain. I find comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven and that one day, I will see her again.

I am moving forward and doing some of the things that LuAnn and I talked about during our last year together. She will always be a part of me, and the 56 years of memories we made will remain forever in my heart.

Happy heavenly anniversary, LuAnn. I will always love you, and I will never forget the beautiful life we shared.

Today was a truly remarkable Father's Day, filled with moments of connection and joy that left a lasting impact. Even though I didn't get to share it with my daughter Brooke, who's currently on a trip, I felt deeply appreciated by everyone and savored a wonderful lunch at National Oak Tree with Matt, Katie, Carter, and Campbell. We wrapped up the celebration with a round of nine holes of golf, with Katie cheering us on, and despite the heat, the time spent with loved ones was a powerful reminder of what's truly essential. It's moments like these that affirm family as the cornerstone of a life well-lived, and I'm filled with gratitude for the bond we share. I hope your day was filled with similar moments of uplift and inspiration that reignite your passion for life. by @hunterphd

What an extraordinary blessing! I successfully tagged my 2nd Merriam while Trey Aars and I were relocating to a different unit that I drew in the Wyoming Drawing for an additional tag. Trey skillfully maneuvered to get the Tom within range for a precise head shot! I'm overjoyed to have shared this experience with Trey, with whom I've had the privilege of hunting alongside for about 10 incredible years. The breathtaking scenery and stunning view were truly divine. My Wyoming adventure has come to a close, and I'm eagerly anticipating opening day in South Dakota on the 15th, departing this Saturday. I'm deeply grateful to Trey Aars and Hanna Aars for their remarkable hospitality and companionship. I look forward to returning again next spring! This hunt held profound significance for me, as Trey, who is like a son to me, has been an unwavering source of support and comfort during the challenging days following the loss of my beloved wife LuAnn about 7 weeks ago. Just wrapped up a successful Texas Spring Turkey Hunt in Canadian and Lipscomb, Texas, where I had the privilege of harvesting my third and fourth gobblers with the generous support of Dean & Tana Thompson and Ray Lee & Kathy Price. Sharing this adventure with friend Virgil Rayneri made it all the more memorable. Now, I'm gearing up for my next challenge in Mora, New Mexico, where I'll pursue a Merriam turkey starting next Tuesday. Though life's journey has taken some tough turns, including the loss of my wife of 53 years, I'm finding solace in the hunt and rediscovering happiness. Hammer down in the Texas Panhandle. 🦃🔥

Big thanks to Western Outdoors, and to Steve Rortvedt and Angela for top-notch hospitality and putting us on birds the right way.

Randy Smith and I rolled in from Oklahoma to the Chisum Ranch chasing Rio Grandes—and it didn’t take long. Two longbeards each, all on the ground in less than a day. Textbook setups, fired-up gobblers, and no wasted time.

That’s how you kick off a spring season.

2026 is off to a STRONG start. More miles, more birds, more stories ahead.
