So… About Paris

This PFW was exactly what I needed

This summer in Paris was rough. If Euro summer was going to be a thing this year, this wasn’t it. I was miserable most of the time (most were). The heat was just too much. Spain didn’t help either.

I went back to Texas, relieved to be home but with very little to show for Menswear. I felt pretty defeated.

Every Fashion Week, my photography evolves. If there were an Autobahn for leveling up as a photographer, Fashion Week would be it for me

This season, I needed a win (or six). I got them, along with those dopamine hits I somewhat shamefully crave.

Every season is like a family reunion + new faces/ outfits. I’m around world-class photographers. I feel very honored.

You have your shows, but you also have your side quests

6 cameras, 3 film, 3 digital. 80% mostly shot with my little Fuji camera (this thing was a cheat code)

After attending multiple shows over the past few seasons, I really wanted to focus on street style. That’s where the action is. People from all walks of life plan their outfits specifically around these shows. Independent designers, stylists, makeup artists, and so many others. To me, they take priority.

Though, if there are shows that are easily accessible, I’ll definitely take a few shots

Before too long, your days start to blur together. You can’t remember the last show you attended or where you’re headed next off the top of your head. Sometimes, you end up somewhere, decide the show isn’t worth your time, and just go shopping instead while you wait for the next one.

NGL, when Rihanna showed up I was kicking myself for not having the right gear at the time. Then again, probably wouldn’t have gotten an opportunity anyway. I’ve accepted that and my heart is still open 🤓

This season was different in that I did slow down (a little). Hungry? An outdoor restaurant? Don’t mind if I do. People-watching can be a sport here.

This season was different in that I took those few extra seconds to shoot film. It’s a mental battle when you can easily grab your main camera and fire off 300 shots in the same amount of time.
