WASHINGTON, D.C. The Howard University student body has officially elected Demone Frazier Jr. to serve as Mister Residence Life for the 2026–2027 academic year. A Freshman Political Science major with a heart for advocacy, Demone’s victory marks the rise of a leader dedicated to the well-being of every Bison in the residence halls.

FROM NASHVILLE TO THE MECCA. Born in Buffalo, New York, and raised in Nashville, North Carolina, Demone’s journey is defined by a commitment to service that transcends state lines. As a passionate student leader, he has already made his mark through his work with the Black Youth Empowerment Network, where he focuses on the mentorship, leadership development, and uplifting of African American young men.

THE PLATFORM: CROWN YOUR CALM. Running on the transformative theme “Crown Your Calm,” Demone is focused on bringing balance and peace to the student living experience. His mission for the upcoming school year is built on:
• Mental Wellness: Promoting resources that help students navigate the pressures of college life.
• Encouraging Balance: Teaching the importance of self-care alongside academic rigor.
• Safe Spaces: Creating supportive, inclusive environments within residence life where every student feels seen and heard.

A SERVANT-LEADER ELECT. While the formal coronation ceremony awaits this fall, Demone is already preparing to embody the values of leadership and empowerment that define the Howard legacy. His upcoming reign as Mister Residence Life is a commitment to being a voice for his peers and a pillar of support for the Bison family.

Congratulations to Demone Frazier Jr.

WASHINGTON, D.C. The Mecca has found a new voice to champion the student living experience! The Howard University community has officially elected Kennedi Ward to serve as Miss Residence Life for the 2025–2026 academic year. A Freshman Leisure Studies major with a concentration in Sports Management, Kennedi hails from Atlanta, Georgia bringing that signature Southern hospitality and leadership to the halls of Howard.

A PRESTIGIOUS START. Although she is only in her first year, Kennedi has already established herself as a powerhouse in student governance. She currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the Freshman COAS Prestige Council, proving her ability to manage high-level operations and lead her peers with intentionality. Her transition into the Royal Court as Miss Residence Life is a natural extension of her commitment to the Bison family.

THE PLATFORM: ATL (Where You Stay Is Who You Become). Taking inspiration from her roots, Kennedi’s platform ATL is a mission-driven initiative focused on the transformative power of residential spaces. She believes that a student’s environment is the foundation for their success. Her vision includes:
