Fall project laid out, Epic Quilt 97 ready to go, coffee going cold because the project won out! This is what a Saturday sewing session looks like around here!

What's the first fall project on your table this year? An Epic Quilt 97 sewing machine is on a desk surrounded by various sewing supplies like fabric pieces, scissors, and a pin cushion. The area is decorated with a string of leaves and artwork on the walls, including framed pictures and a poster with text. by @husqvarnaviking

Two easy passes, one enclosed seam! The Flat Fell Foot stitches the seam straight, then guides the folded edge back through its curved channel to finish both raw edges, no extra pinning or pressing needed. Works just as easily on lightweight cottons as it does on denim.

Have you put this foot to the test, yet? by @husqvarnaviking

We wanted to create a simple pumpkin block that we could then "decorate" using applique and Omnimotion stitches. With the laser guide and stitch projection (available on the Designer Epic 3 and the Epic Quilt 97) we were able to make quick work of both piecing and decorating our block.
We hope you give this one a try and tag us in your photos! #HusqvarnaViking

We used:
1- 4 1/2" X 4 1/2" orange square
2- 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" green squares
2- 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" green squares
2- 4 1/2" X 2 1/2" green strips
2- 8 1/2" X 2 1/2" green strips

Did you know you can use the Join and Fold Foot for piecing quilt blocks?! Instead of stitching your pieces together then trying to add decorative stitches, create the seam and stitching in one pass. Press under 1/4" on one side of each piece then let the foot do all the work.

You can use any decorative stitches, but the specialty stitch menu in many Husqvarna Viking machines has a group of stitches called "edge stitches" specifically designed to work with the join and fold foot. by @husqvarnaviking

Every fabric scrap has potential. We're turning colorful leftovers into "wonky" log cabin blocks using a serger. Not only does it piece everything together, but it also finishes the seams at the same time, leaving the back nice and neat. It's a great way to turn a scrap collection into a future quilt one block at a time.
