New video up on my YouTube channel - 5 Bernard Edwards Basslines (and how to play them). Here’s a clip of ‘My Forbidden Lover’.

Thanks to @nickytwisterbass for his help with this video - we had a long chat talking all things ‘Nard, but he also helped me figure out which strings to use to get that signature tone, amongst other bits of trivia and technique.

No guitarist? No problem.

I’ve had the Anagram by @darkglasselectronics for a month or so now, and I’m loving the sheer range of tones I can get.

Also, I want to play more heavy riffs. Who’s with me?

Gear:
@anacondabasses Ultra P
@elixir_strings 45-105 Nickelwound
@darkglasselectronics Anagram

UA Apollo
Ableton Live

That was one of the most fulfilling summers, playing shows all over Europe with @katiemeluaofficial. What a joy to play live every night. No track, just the five of us on stage - except for the one time in Munich with a full orchestra of course.

The best band and crew. An honour to be involved.

May is nearly over.

1. Getting lessons in counting from the B
2. Watching pals @gabrielleaplin & @peteleekeys smash it at the Palladium
3. Big bass
4. Smaller bass
5. Having fun refreshing an old @thewhitekeysuk medley by making playback. Stems/multis courtesy of @joechiari!
6. Injeraaaaa
7. Another bass pic, this time with a reverb pedal. Preparing for a summer of gigs with @katiemeluaofficial

Proud of how lyrical, dynamic, grooving and tasteful this band sounded this year.

Killers the lot of them. Such fun playing/Md’ing for @katiemeluaofficial

Last week we played @officialronnies with @katiemeluaofficial, raising money for @pathwaysintomusic. What a lovely way to spend a lunchtime on a dreary autumn Wednesday!

(Let’s say I was playing sitting down in tribute to the late, great Anthony Jackson, and not because I was getting over a punishing viral illness that was giving me abdominal cramps 🙃)
