🚢 Our First Alaska Cruise... A Trip We'll Never Forget 🏔️🩵

Throwback to late May 2013 during Memorial Day week, my husband and I took our very first Alaska cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. 🚢

It was an amazing experience visiting Alaska, Victoria (Canada) and Seattle. While in Seattle, we visited Pike Place Market, explored the city, and enjoyed a memorable dining experience at the restaurant atop the 605-foot-tall Space Needle, taking in incredible panoramic views of Seattle.

From breathtaking glaciers and waterfalls to beautiful scenery and unforgettable memories, this was a trip we have always remembered. 🩵

At the time, we had our beloved dogs AJ and Flower, who stayed at a boarding facility where staff were on-site 24 hours a day. Knowing they were well cared for gave us peace of mind while we enjoyed our adventure. 🐾❤️

Watch until the end to see a video of the stunning Mendenhall Glacier waterfall!

Have you ever been on an Alaska cruise from Seattle?

Flashback February 10, 2024 — we celebrated Daisy’s 11th Barkday surrounded by family and so much love ❤️🎉

It was extra special because it was also Lunar New Year — the Year of the Wood Dragon 🐉✨ A year symbolizing strength, intelligence, growth, and great fortune.

Daisy and Jasmine looked absolutely festive in their Dragon outfits, celebrating the new year in style and honoring the spirit of the Wood Dragon ❤️

My husband and I also dressed in our traditional Vietnamese gowns (áo dài), making it a beautiful cultural celebration filled with love, tradition, and family memories. ❤️

So grateful for another year of love, cuddles, and fun days. 🐾

Hi! I’m Huyen — a Southern California dog mom sharing adventures and fun days with my rescued Pug mixes, Daisy & Jasmine 🐶🐶.

Most of our adventures are with the pups and my husband, exploring SoCal spots and beyond. Sometimes it’s just me and my husband on travel getaways — flights, cruises, and more ✈️🚢.

July 15, 2025 UPDATE: Exciting news! After a month lock-out, Daisy & Jasmine’s account @doggiefunday was finally UNLOCKED by IG!

We still don't know the reason for the lock-out 🤷‍♀️ I’ve been sharing their pup adventures, foodie outings, and dog-friendly SoCal fun days from this account to their primary page.

This account is here to stay as I continue sharing my own fun days, destination travels with my husband, and precious life moments with Daisy & Jasmine 💖🐶🐶

Thank you so much for following along on either account — or both!💖💖 Can’t wait for more adventures together! ✨

Guess How Many Photos It Took? 😂📸

Last Saturday, we went to the @thepopupshoppes Howl-O-Ween event hosted by @pawbrey_ at The LAB Anti-Mall in Costa Mesa for more Halloween fun. 🎃

Between getting everyone in place, looking at the camera, and capturing that perfect family moment… let’s just say it took almost a dozen tries!

But these are the memories we treasure most — the imperfect moments, the silly faces, and having our senior girls by our side. 💖🐶🐶

Be honest… how many photos does it take you to get a few good family photos?

Stay tuned for another post sharing more highlights from this pawsome event!

The Day Dogs Take Over the Farm! 🎃🐾

On October 10, 2026, Daisy & Jasmine had their very first Pups & Pumpkins adventure! 🍂🐶

This special day is when the farm opens its gates to pups, and our girls loved soaking up all the fall magic.

They explored rows of pumpkins, beautiful flowers, and the corn maze, saw two camels, participated in the costume contest, ran into some IG furiends, and made new ones along the way. 🧡🐾

Thank you @hanafieldtanakafarms for opening your farm to all the pups and creating such a fun dog-friendly fall experience! 🎃🐶

Stay tuned for Part 2 of our Pups & Pumpkins adventure! 🐾🍂

🇺🇸❤️ Throwback to our family photo from the 4th of July BBQ! 🐾✨

As July comes to a close, we're feeling incredibly grateful. This year marked America's 250th birthday 🇺🇸 and also the year we celebrated 10 years with Daisy (February) and Jasmine (May).
🩷🐶🐶

For most of those 10 years, these memories were just ours. Since sharing Daisy and Jasmine's journey at the end of 2024, we've been grateful for the kindness and support from this amazing community.❤️🐾

Thank you for being part of our story and for following along on our journey. 💕🩷

POV: We thought we were safe...

We weren't even on the beach! We were walking along the street across from the ocean on our way back to our Oceanside rental when a high tide wave splashed us by surprise.

A friendly reminder to check the tide schedule before visiting the coast. High tide can reach farther than you might expect and may splash onto nearby sidewalks and streets. 🌊⚠️

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads who give their all to their families — including their furbabies. 💙🐾

Daisy and Jasmine are grateful every day for their amazing dad, who:

🚗 Drives them on fun adventures
🦴 Does daily training sessions with treats
🛁 Gives them baths and brushes their teeth
💃 Loves to dance with them (or dance for them!)
❤️ Fills their days with love, patience, and endless care

We hope all the incredible dads out there have a pawsome Father's Day! 🐶🐾💙

🍎🐾 Forever Our AJ (Apple Jacker) 🌈

This photo was taken before you went into surgery on August 2, 2014. 💛🐾

We adopted you in May 2008 after your original owner unexpectedly passed away. You came to us as AJ, but we gave you the nickname Apple Jacker because you were always trying to eat the apples from our apple tree. 🍎❤️

You became family and filled our lives with so much love and happiness.

After your surgery, we found out you had lymphoma, and it had already spread. We had to make the hardest decision to let you go when the time came, but we made sure you were comfortable, surrounded by love, and cherished every moment we had left together until we said goodbye on October 10, 2014. 💔🌈

We miss you every day, our sweet Apple Jacker. Whenever we see Daisy and Jasmine searching for apples on the ground, we smile and think of you.
A little reminder that your memory is always with us. ❤️🍎

You will always be loved and never forgotten.

Until we meet again, AJ. 🌈🐾❤️
