Fit Breakdown 003 Styling on 1990 Craig Morrison Spike Sofa (MTV Sofa) @hvgo.sg is wearing A/W 2017 Rick Owens Geobasket Triple Black, A/W 2007 Dior Homme “Navigate” & 2000s Roberto Cavalli Leather Jacket; combined with A/W 2026 Walter Van Beirendonck x Eastpak Leather Backpack Salvador Dali’s ‘Mae West’ sofa was the inspiration for this iconic @craigmorrison.studio Black Spike Sofa Made in collaboration with his brother Angus Morrison in the early 90s, only five of these were produced, and one of them lives in the permanent collection at London’s Science Museum The first time we see this sofa is on the set of Meat Beat Manifesto’s “Psyche-Out” (1989) in which we see Marcus Adams, who has been associated with the brand on numerous occasions. Later, on 1990 Craig Morrison himself was photographed on this sofa, just as it was featured in various magazines and articles of the time Coming across this kind of artwork is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I was able to speak with the owner of the sofa and share a precious moment in which new and older generations come together to celebrate a scene that’s almost forgotten today From what the owner told me, she bought the sofa more than 20 years ago at a store that specialized in selling latex clothing, and from there, she placed the sofa in her own shop. The owner has always been dedicated to selling and creating clubwear since the heyday of the gabber scene in Rotterdam, going on to distribute brands such as Cyberdog, Couch UK, and Craig Morrison, among others. Today, she no longer resells these items but continues to design club-wear and fetish-wear I came across this piece quite by chance, and from the very beginning, the owner was delighted with the idea of have pictures taken on the sofa and give it visibility . Despite its condition, she continues to care for it with great affection and preserves the story of what this magnificent scene once was by @hvgo.sg
