As a music artist and audio engineer at @thepenthousenyc, HVNEST’s journey from the rugged streets of New York to the studio booth reflects a unique blend of personal experiences, cultural influences, and artistic vision.

Born and raised in New York City, HVNEST credits his upbringing for shaping his artistic path. “New York has a very distinctive culture... As a kid, I gravitated towards music because it was a way for me to vent on things that I couldn’t really speak to other people about.” HVNEST’s music embodies the essence of his city—raw, unapologetic, and pulsating with emotion.

His lyrical prowess shines brightest in the realm of R&B, where he effortlessly captures the nuances of heartbreak and introspection. Reflecting on his style, HVNEST explains, “I classify myself as an artist in R&B, heartbreak shit... because I’ve experienced it more in life. But I’ve been making some new music,” he enthuses, hinting at forthcoming projects. “I dropped some shit... LVST Tapes, on my birthday... and then like just off those, I feel like I’m an underground artist.”

In the underground music scene, HVNEST finds a fertile ground for experimentation and self-expression. “I feel like I’m an underground artist... I think underground is more my prerogative because it’s unique,” he explains. Embracing trap influences while staying true to his R&B roots, HVNEST’s sound defies conventions, offering listeners a refreshing departure from mainstream hip-hop.

While writing this I’m tryna find the words to express how thankful I am to have made this album. Life been taking me everywhere lately and having the time for certain things just ain’t what it used to be.

I named the album “Is It Love” because you can never tell who’s really with you
