One year alcohol-free today. 🤍

I was once almost two years sober. I had found God, stepped away from partying and started becoming a healthier version of myself.

Then I got involved with the wrong people again and slowly began believing that drinking and clubbing when I didn’t have my kids was normal. At first, it felt harmless—but little by little, I watched my life begin to fall apart mentally, emotionally and financially.

Then I found out I was pregnant with Elias, and I knew I was completely done. I truly believe God used him to pull me out of a life I was never meant to return to.

This past year has also shown me a side of alcohol I had never seen before. One or two drinks may not seem like much until you watch someone you love completely change after them. I’ve learned that you cannot love someone into healing or save someone who is not ready to save themselves.

I can only control my own choices.

My prayer is that my babies grow up understanding self-control, healthy boundaries and that love should feel safe. I want their home to be filled with faith, laughter, stability and peace—not chaos and heartbreak.

Today, I’m celebrating one year of choosing my children, choosing God, choosing peace and finally choosing myself.

It was not easy, but I am so incredibly proud of myself. 🤍 #sobriety #singlemom #mom by @hwow_dtx
