✨Peace isn’t just a hashtag— it’s something we put into action. ✨

Shoutout to Kevin Melvin, Student Access Coordinator with Operation Jumpstart, for joyfully sharing the incredible mission and resources they provide to help our youth access opportunities and thrive in their educational journey. 🎓💫

Kevin also shared, in his personal capacity, what Peace In Motion means to him—and what it looks like to bring peace into action right here in our communities. 🤝💙

We’re grateful for organizations like Operation Jumpstart and community leaders like Kevin who remind us that peace can look like showing up, supporting one another, creating opportunities and helping others thrive.

Let’s keep putting peace in motion, together!

🕊️ Young voices matter.

International Peace Youth Group volunteer Mani joined hundreds of community members and leaders in walking for peace.

Mani shared a simple but powerful message:

“Peace begins with you. Your actions have the power to inspire and uplift those around you. By standing together, we can show that Long Beach is a community built on peace, unity, and love.”

We’re grateful for young people like Mani who are putting peace into action and inspiring others to do the same. 💙

🕊️ • Long Beach District 8 shines as a beacon of peace, led by Councilwoman Tunua Thrash-Ntuk, who inspired residents and community members at HWPL LA’s 12th Annual Peace Walk in Bixby Park. 🌟

As she beautifully stated, “We know that peace rarely makes the headlines, but it makes our neighborhood and it makes them stronger over time. Today as we brought everyone together to make sure we get a chance to walk and show the community the importance of peace, we see all kinds of face, cultures, generations and continents right here today at Bixby Park. It is a reminder that we should never stop talking to one another.“ 💬🤝

🕊️ • HWPL LA recently marked its 12th Annual Peace Walk, a gathering that united families, friends, community members, and local organizations in a mini resource fair known as the Peace Village.

Organizations such as the International Women’s Peace Group, For The Child, Operation Jumpstart, the Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services, the Los Angeles County of Youth Development, and the Fairfield Family YMCA came together to share invaluable resources aimed at empowering youth and families. As they led the peace walk, participants chanted words of peace and unity, while supportive onlookers cheered and drivers expressed their encouragement with honking horns.

This inspiring event showcased the collective power of community, centeered on the message: “Peace Begins With Me.” When we each recognize that the journey to peace starts within ourselves and connect with leaders and resources that champion this cause, we unlock our potential to create lasting change.

A heartfelt thank you to all our community partners and leaders who contributed to the success of the HWPL LA Peace Walk and Peace Village. We look forward to continuing this important work in the future!
