The best investment you can make in life is to invest in yourself. It may sound selfish but if you want to add value to the life of those around you, first you need to make sure that you've sorted yourself out.

Work on you and everything else will fall into place. Being a better you translates into being a better parent, sibling, friend, partner and overall human being.

Self love is not about being conceited or being a narcissist. It's about holding yourself accountable for your hits and misses; and being humble enough to work on the things that affect you, those around you and your environment in negative ways.

September means the start of a new trip around the sun for me. And as this new trip begins, I can't help but hope that this next one will out-do the previous one.

Chapter 8...DONE!

August was the sum of everything I learned this past year. And as the page is about to turn on 42, I can't help but think of how much I've grown this year. And it sounds kinda goofy to say that you are still learning at 42, but it's true.

I've learned to be patient with myself, to be open about how and what I feel without walking on eggshells for anyone, learning to enjoy and value every moment of every day because this is all we get. There are no do overs. So, be intense in what you feel, in how you speak, in how you carry yourself, in your discipline, in your gratitude and in your goals. If you hate these types of posts, that's ok. There's two options; keep scrolling or unfollow.

As my 42 years of life are coming to an end, what better send off than running 42K. I am beyond grateful to be able to do this as well as I'm doing it at my age. Today more than any other day recently, I feel proud of myself. And you can call it hubris but I've dedicated the last 12 weeks to making sure I reached race day at my most optimum. My last week was a reminder to myself of what true discipline can accomplish. Training, food, rest; all dialed in for something I would have never imagined doing. Running a marathon. Today I say to myself "you're a bad motherf*cker". And to have it be my first and finish it sub-4 hours just blows my mind.

Now if you've made it this far without scrolling, I want you to know that I treasure you from the bottom of my heart because it means that whether you've supported me directly or indirectly, I couldn't have done it without any of you. I'm not that self centered.

And if you've now made it THIS far, you better be bilingual or use Google translate or make it a point to learn a new language 🤣. Gracias @high.breedgt . No puedo empezar a agradecer lo que este equipo ha hecho por mi @jd.soberanis @lsmazariegos @julitomoralesr , la calidez y humildad con la que me recibieron fue el remedio perfecto para un momento en mi vida donde de cierta manera no sabía dónde encajar. Estaré eternamente agradecido con la vida por haberlos puesto en mi camino. Y gracias a eso, he conocido a tantas personas maravillosas. Y alguno@s se han convertido como hermanos y hermanas para mi. HB se a convertido en una especie de familia y un pedazo de esta medalla es de ustedes.
Otro pedazo es para mís 3 monstruos a quienes amo con toda mi alma @nd.xhaydexsh @n1ch0_xd @_honeyvick . Gracias por soportarme y aguantar cada cosa que se me cruza pero espero esto les enseñe de cierta manera que no hay nada imposible si realmente se lo proponen.
