Hydra Edition x Alekos Fassianos Museum 🕊️
Apokalokairo, in two parts. Part I

Love as a driving force for creativity.

Love, desire and intimacy appear throughout Alekos Fassianos’ work, from embracing figures and lovers to some of his more erotic imagery. Taking these as our starting point, we turned to our own summer loves - the encounters, memories, excitement, tenderness and disappointments that stay with us after a summer ends.

Gathered at Alekos Fassianos’ Atelier in Kea, each guest translated a memory into a drawing before carving it into metal foil, creating a personal keepsake to carry a piece of their summer with them.

The workshop was part of the Contemporary Intervention Program and took place in dialogue with Malvina Panagiotidi’s The Walker in the Moonlight Walked Alone, continuing a conversation between Fassianos’ work and the present.

We always begin with the place.

For a celebration in Hydra, that meant a curation shaped by the island itself - locally crafted objects, natural materials and thoughtful details that felt as though they had always belonged there.

Designed by Hydra Edition and CM Makris, the brass bookmarks and Face Comb necklace draw from the distinctive visual world of Alekos Fassianos - conceived as keepsakes to carry a little piece of summer with you.

The pieces grew out of our Late Summer gathering with the Alekos Fassianos Museum in Kea, extending the story of our time together beyond the island.

Hydra Edition x Alekos Fassianos Museum 🌞
Apokalokairo, in two parts. Part II

On the atelier’s terrace, Apokalokairo took shape around a question: what comes to mind when you think of summer love?

Over drinks, among memories of romance, freedom and fleeting encounters, one word kept coming back: heat.

Taking heat back to its source, we collected stones from around the Atelier and came together to form a sun. A small collective piece to mark the end of summer and the feeling that connected us all that evening. An evening shaped by memory and the last heat of the season.

Late summer at Alekos Fassianos’ Atelier “Apokalokairo” in Kea 🌞

The Alekos Fassianos Museum and Hydra Edition, continuing their Add a Little Fassianos to Your Life workshop series, invite you to take part in a special creative workshop at the artist’s studio on Kea.

Inspired by Alekos Fassianos’ personal archive, summer memories, and the recurring motifs throughout his work, we invite you to create your own keepsake celebrating the season’s final days.

The workshop takes place within the artist’s studio, alongside Malvina Panagiotidi’s installation, inviting visitors to experience the space not only as viewers, but as creators.
