New in store: RYOKO Senses Salon🕯️
Founded in Berlin in 2015, RYOKO is a multidisciplinary sensory studio rooted in Japanese Shinto philosophy. Their practice explores scent, touch and material through olfactory creations, handcrafted objects and immersive experiences.

For the quieter days ahead, a selection of pieces to use at home: HIKARI seed-scented candles, Japanese sandalwood and oud incense sticks, handmade ceramic incense plates and holders, and white sage smudge. by @hyethestore

For Hongjun Park, working with wood began long before it became a formal practice. Growing up around woodworking studios, he spent his childhood carving and experimenting with the material. Today, he crafts each piece by hand in his Seoul studio, bringing a sharp eye for proportion shaped by his background in visual design.

Natural and restrained, his work is made for everyday use. Rather than adding ornament, he focuses on what can be taken away, bringing a sense of space to functional objects. Small adjustments to curvature, height, and thickness give each form its balance. Designed to be lived with, each piece gains character through time and touch.

There is always something humbling about visiting the studio of an artisan who has spent decades honing their craft. The serene atmosphere and the rhythm of their work have a way of drawing us in.

The old pieces gathered around the workshop tell a story of the time they have spent here, and the years of work that have shaped their hands.

Hye the Store will be closed from 1–5 September while we head to Korea for a short trip.

Our first summer in Nordhavn has been a wonderful beginning, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has stopped by. After this little break, we’ll be back with new finds and more stories to share. The season ahead will be filled with exciting pop-ups, special events, and beautiful things to give and keep🤍
