As a MedLab student, I believe that discipline and passion can take you far. But above all, the most important thing in this journey is having a pure intention about why you started, and always seeking guidance through prayer.
Balancing academic pressure with leadership responsibilities is not easy. As a young leader and a young scientist in the making, there are challenges along the way. But I remind myself that I was not born to give up.
What drives me every day is the purpose that led me into the medical field.
My ambition is to serve humanity through accurate and precise laboratory science—because every correct result can put a smile on a patient’s face. 🧪😊

Happy International Youth Day 2026! 🌍💚

This year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” reminds us that although our backgrounds may differ, young people everywhere share the desire to create a better future.

As a youth leader and Yobe Coordinator, SHIELD Nigeria, I believe we shouldn’t wait for the perfect time or position to make a difference. Start where you are, use what you have, and take action. ✊🏽

Together we win; divided we fail. We are future Medical Scientists driven by knowledge, discipline, and a shared commitment to improving lives through science. Every challenge we overcome together strengthens our character, deepens our understanding, and brings us closer to our purpose. May Allah guide our steps, grant us beneficial knowledge, protect us from every evil, and bless us with success in this world and the Hereafter. آمين.

🩸 WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY – JUNE 14 🩸

Every day, thousands of people around the world depend on blood transfusions to survive emergencies, childbirth complications, surgeries, cancer treatment, and other life-threatening conditions. Yet, the availability of safe blood relies entirely on the kindness of voluntary donors.
Today, I join millions across the globe in celebrating World Blood Donor Day and honoring the selfless heroes who save lives through the simple act of donating blood. A single unit of blood can save up to three lives, making every donation a priceless gift of hope.
Blood cannot be manufactured in a laboratory—it can only come from generous individuals who choose to give. By donating blood, you are giving someone another chance to see their family, pursue their dreams, and continue living.
As a Medical Laboratory Science student, I understand the critical role blood plays in healthcare and emergency medicine. I encourage every healthy and eligible individual to become a regular blood donor. Your few minutes of generosity could mean a lifetime for someone else.
Let us build a culture of compassion, humanity, and voluntary blood donation in our communities.
Donate Blood. Save Lives. Be a Hero.

If you truly want to prosper and grow beyond your limits as a young individual, especially from a challenging background, you must be ready to live differently from the crowd. Growth requires persistence, not only when things are easy but when progress feels slow and uncomfortable. You must be willing to face embarrassment, make mistakes, and keep pushing forward even when people doubt you. Many give up because they fear looking foolish, but real success often begins with discomfort and repeated effort.

There will be moments where you have to spend long hours alone, building your skills and improving yourself while others choose comfort. Those quiet moments are where discipline and strength are formed. However, growth must be intentional—focus on developing valuable skills, building strong connections, and becoming a person of impact. When you combine persistence with purpose, you create opportunities for yourself and gradually rise beyond your limitations. by @i._gaye
