Vocal Control: Singing For The Mic

Vocal coach Kurt Wolf works with Broadway performer Cameron Amandus Jones on how to develop more vocal control and nuance for microphone singing. Follow along as they explore techniques and strategies for mastering vocal cord function, dynamic range, and more sophisticated singing which becomes possible with assistance of amplified sound. Cameron achieves a vocal breakthrough when working with the microphone. He discovers a more efficient and higher quality singing which can then be taken forward, off mic, and into other environments.

Stay tuned for the full coaching out this Sunday on our YouTube Channel!

It’s official✌🏾

It may sound small, but it has been something I’ve been debating changing for a long time. Some people know my stage name, some know my legal name, but it has always felt strange and divisive within myself having to choose. Adding my personal to my professional has felt very unifying, and I want to bring that energy to everything I do as a performer and a person. RÉVÉLER. 🎤✨

“Don’t just sing the song. Tell the story. Own the stage.”

Cette saison, New York entre chez Arabesque. ✨

Cameron’s goal wasn’t to spread the sound
My goal was to help him find his right foot
When the system organizes differently from the ground up, the voice doesn’t have to work as hard
The heels are like the molars. They help establish how we manage load and pressure
Change the feet and you can influence what’s happening above, including occlusion
Sometimes the shift isn’t in the voice It’s in where the body finds support
