Heres a little trip wrap up from a week in the Boulderfields. A real mix bag of glimpses into the fun this place has to offer.

Cam and I had an awesome time exploring a place that we have frequented a number of times over the last handful of years. We met some new people and caught up with friends we haven’t seen in what felt like too long. The peace this place brings me is incredible and getting to be a part of #rtb12 was an experience I will never forget. There are too many moments to sum in a caption so if you want to here more, lets chat next time at the gym or around the campfire 🔥

Big thanks to @okanaganboulderingsociety for putting on this incredible event. It was a pleasure to attend for the first time and I finally got to try Purgatory which has been a boulder I have looked at for years. Also a big shoutout to @jay_tremaine for hanging out with us for the week and @thepotentialmen for getting on a plane with only a bag on their back to come climb outside for the first time. It was so cool to watch those two rage on some boulders and drop hot dogs in the fire. Thank you to @rob_chapman_ for taking some incredible photos that will be cherished as a memory on this incredible line. Cannot forget to thank my love @_margotl_ for coming up for the event and getting to be there for some special moments.

Otherwise, theres some send footage mixed in. Sorry for the long caption, but you obviously don’t have to read it if you don’t want to 😜 by @i.vickers

Had a great weekend with @_margotl_ touring around @davidthompsoncountry checking out some new and old sights. Always a treat to spend time in the mountains with my best friend.

The @growlcampers prototype has been feeling good and was warm all night despite waking up to snow on the ground. I am looking forward to getting the kitchen and interior dialled after some much needed real world testing. Very much looking forward to a few more weekends in the mountains before getting the truck back into the shop. #growlcampers #rigpics #explorenordegg #utetacoma #tacomacamper by @i.vickers

Project update!

The @growlcampers prototype is on the truck and I am so stoked to use the heck out of it over the next few months. A handful of gaskets and hardware are in testing and the interior still needs to be outfitted. Once the interior is completed, I will be making a short video to explain all my reasonings behind its design. Thank you all for the help getting to this point, I am so appreciative for all your support.

Comment “heck ya 🤘🏼” if you are stoked for a short form video of the rig’

PROJECT UPDATE

The Ute Tacoma is finally (mostly) done! I’ve been putting in the hours over the last few months to get the details on this truck finished. The list includes, the rear gear cubbies, roof rack, bike rack-mount end caps, recessed tail lights and fittings, tow mirrors and some rewirring. Amidst a few other things, the #utetacoma is mostly done!
And so the question is.. what comes next?

Well, I have some exciting news. I will be starting to build the fiberglass composite camper that I have been brainstorming for the last couple years. I am so incredibly excited to share this project as it gets underway.

The second exciting news, is I will be starting a youtube channel to share some more info on this build, such as the smaller 3d printed parts, how I approached the Tacoma’s terrible payload and what this camper is being designed to do. More on that to come soon.

Thanks for giving this a read and I hope you follow along for the journey!

Good day out on the rocks with my homie Dan @dirtbagcorporation.
Lots of fun navigating throughout the masses of limestone for what makes up a really long day. Feeling happy to have achieved my goal for the summer and with the best of company :)

Wait, what? A UTE tray Tacoma?

I managed to get most of phase 1 done before my trip to the west coast and am really happy I did because it was a treat to use along the way. Still missing a few finishing touches but the integrated drawer system was way more useful than I had ever imagined! So nice to have all the camping gear other than the cooler stored out of the way and easily accessible. Stoked for more trips and starting phase 2 this winter.

Gonna start posting some videos over the course of this project starting with this one. This is where the Tacoma tray build is at so far, things are starting to look cool and I’ve enjoyed getting back in the groove of welding. Not rushed on this project either so it’s been fun slowing things down. Really enjoying the making side after having been doing sketches for a whileee before this.

Went down to Joes Valley for a couple weeks with @cam.zimmel back in November. We both had a great time exploring a new area and all the beauty it had to offer and Joes has a LOT to offer. Met lots of great people, soaked in the sun and ate food around the fire with the stars up above. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip and am so grateful for all the memories made with my homie.

One notable from this trip, was getting the chance to climb my first v11. Got to apply some good tactics, try hard and challenge my tension and targeting. I will not forget the sound of the breeze, the warmth from the sun and the peace in the valley on the day this went. Overall, an incredible experience and one I will remember for a long time. Must be noted that I had some unreal support and encouragement from Cam and could not have done it without him!

Stoked to see what next year has to bring
