This sat a long time in my gallery. An excerpt!
In a time where the system has the majority concerned about the stomach and only a few minority has the interest of the wellbeing of the citizens at heart, Wole Soyinka @wolesoyinka put up a draft which address this issue.
It posses a question of;
• Is it about religion or humanity first?
• Is it about sexual desires or child’s safety first?
• Even if it’s bad, should it still be accepted because it’s a culture?

Canticles of a Pyre Foretold is a draft by Wole Soyinka written to address many of these issues. This draft was selected for performance for the University of Ibadan 76th Convocation Ceremony play in November, 2024.
