The rebuild begins.

London marathon gave me a 17minute PB, but it took everything I had. Every run after race day was followed by knee pain. But being the stubborn person I am, I didn’t get it checked out and kept pushing.

3 months, multiple failed sessions, and two horrible PB attempts later, and the same knee pain was lingering. Finally checking it out showed I had damaged my MCL with strains and micro-tears.

Thus began the rebuild. Weeks of cycling followed, then only easy running, and now finally I’m at the point where I am introducing speed sessions again. So begins the road back to PB shape.

Through everything we praise God. Onwards.

2:39:48. All Christ, not me.

Have finally had some time to decompress post mara.
The goal was to achieve a championship time of sub 2:38. Went through 30km on track for 2:37, but couldn’t hang on. It sucks to come agonisingly close, but that’s the marathon for you. And at the end of the day I can’t be disappointed with a 17 minute PB.

This was by far the toughest block I’ve done. Three different countries, flooding, snow, -12 through to 38 degree runs, injuries, 4am starts, and the bulk of it solo. But grateful to have made it to the start line as healthy as I could ask for and ready to go.

Romans 8:18
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us”

Could not have done it without @jxfittness and @_quinn_s who kept me sane throughout the block with regular FaceTimes to Aussy. Massive thank you to the greatest runclub about for the chance to run @panarunclub
And of course forever grateful for the continued support of @camillebocco ❤️

Thank you Jesus.
Time for a summer of speed.

Shoutout to @runningoffpiste , @trackattacksunshinecoast & @locked_in_coaching for providing much needed company for the tail end of the block!

Just over a year ago, I decided to lock in with this running thing. Here is how it’s going so far:

5KM: 18:56 ➡️ 15:58
10KM: 42:47 ➡️ 34:42
21.1KM: 1:35:36 ➡️ 1:17:12
42.2KM: 3:40:56 ➡️ 2:56:18

I did track for a year in High School before my coach passed away. I lost my love for running. Safe to say London has brought it back! The running community here is like nothing else. Thank you GOD and everyone that’s been apart of the journey so far! ❤️‍🔥

London Marathon you were quite something. I have finally had time to process everything. Chip time 2:56:18.

At the end of the day all I can say is thank you Jesus. As I had written on my wrist for race day: “For I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me” - Philippians 4:13.

Happy but not satisfied.

I achieved my goal of a sub 3 hour marathon. This was genuinely the hardest thing I have put my mind to achieving. I could never of imagined this to be possible. The last slide pretty much sums up how I felt haha. @anna_paige_ I couldn’t have done this without you kicking me into gear.

I did, however, fail to achieve my ambition of a qualifying for Boston Marathon, falling 1 minute shy of the qualifying time of 2:55. I can put this down to any number of excuses; injuries, illness before race day etc etc. But at the end of the day I simply wasn’t physically prepared come race day.

I will be back stronger.

I have to give the biggest shoutout to my brothers in Christ @caleb.1up and @kunlebandele. My biggest motivations during the block. You guys came into my life at just the right time. Nothing better than seeing us succeed together. “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Proverbs 27:17.

Also couldn’t have done it without my @panarunclub family who gave me my ticket. I am so privileged to belong to such an amazing community. And thank you to @ldn_slct and @runnpac for the gruelling training sessions. @jaysurrey thank you for the guidance with the training block. ❤️‍🔥 Wouldn’t of been able to do it without you and the team 🙏🏽

And definitely couldn’t have done it without everyone else that supported me along the way 🫶🏽 @camillebocco your sign is what powered my through when I hit the wall haha.

Lastly, this one was for Josh. I know you were looking down from heaven cheering me on. Love you always ❤️ taken in TCS London Marathon by @iainwright

This one was for Josh ❤️

I’m not one to make posts like this, but wanted to share this.

On the 3rd of July my beautiful friend and flatmate passed away. We both had half-marathon PB’s just shy of the elusive 1 hour 30 min mark, with my PB being 1:35:36 and his being 1:37:46. We would often jest with each other about who would be first to eclipse 1 hour 30 minutes.

On the 13th of October I ran the Oxford half. It felt as though Josh was running with me that day, as I went under the 1 hour 30 minute mark. Official time 1:22:32.

Although I’m sad Josh couldn’t be here to see it (and no doubt go right back and shatter my time right after), I’m sure he was watching from up in Gods Kingdom. He was my ‘why’ that day.

Miss you homie. God Bless.

I also couldn’t have done it without the support of @panarunclub ❤️ Thanks for the opportunity. More than just a runclub. Love you all x

On to shattering the marathon next. 📷: @knockoclock taken in Oxford by @iainwright
