My heart has been in pieces for 6 months….
It was so hard getting in house care for my Father…The cost…Finding the right person/people…The comfort….With the help of my Godsister, we found phenomenal care…The day his team was supposed to begin, he died…If I’m being honest the grief has truly been unbearable….In June, it was his birthday, Father’s Day and the Knicks won the championship…In July my business took a hit and not being able to call him, so I could talk through it crippled me…The one thing I know he would demand of me is that I give the best care to David and Dorian and I have done that the best I could… I can honestly say I haven’t taken the best care of myself….Grief is unmatched in the worst way…I have a pocket of joy bc of my boys, but everything else I have no words for…I pray incessantly, bc that’s all I know to do❤️

Dear David Gregory,
MY FIRECARCKER (literally & figuratively)…
I remember sobbing at Kindergarten Orientation because I was so afraid of leaving my littlest treasure in this big school without a familiar face…And then I remember having to send @bossybritni to get you from school bc you thought it was a good idea to flood the boys bathroom 😳
I remember Dorian telling you somebody was mean to him and getting a phone from @foreverkiramoe the next day bc you went in his class to find the person that was mean to him😳
I remember your attempt at boycotting PreK bc your hot dog and green beans touched and that was undoubtedly the end of the world🤣😂
I remember when I told you I wasn’t going to be a teacher anymore and I was starting my own business @thesubroomllc and how proud you were of me and how in my WORST moments in business you have been my BIGGEST cheerleader and encouragement❤️
At 15, I hope you ALWAYS remember that God can and will do all things in your life if you remain humble, steadfast and faithful to him and his word….
I hope you ALWAYS remember that nothing works but the work…Work on your academics, work on your craft and work on whatever you decide to take on in this world….
I hope you ALWAYS, ALWAYS ALWAYS, remember that you made me a Mom first and I will ALWAYS be in the stands, in your ear and in your heart ❤️

His wrist looked mangled and irreparable…
He had 2 bone resets (one with meds one without meds).
He had 6 casts.
He had 1 surgery with 2 procedures combined in it..
He had 4 anxiety attacks, only to make it to this day…IT’S GAME DAY!!!
And I can’t wait to see his confidence on full display…Dorian works HARD…He lives and breaths soccer and it will all pay off for him….

Dear Dad,
I have no idea how I made to and through today but I did….You looked so beautiful and super dapper…The boys stood tall and Dorian read the scripture with such poise…I found the strength to stand by myself and tell the packed church how proud I was to be your daughter…You were celebrated in grand fashion and folks came from as far as California….You are so deeply loved…And now life without you begins….I have no idea how this is supposed to work without you but I’ll fight this pain, fight this agonizing emptiness and fight the tears…I thank you Daddy for how fiercely you loved me, for the confidence you gave me and for teaching me to walk in any room God has assigned me to. There are no words for how much I will miss you but I will💔 by @ialwayswin1913
