Q: Do you have any books or movies or shows you’re planning to have fun with for spooky season?

I probably won’t have time to read anything, so that’s a bit too bad. But I just started rewatching the Sleepy Hollow tv show.

.

Guys this book broke me. By the end I was fully body sobbing. I knew it was gonna hurt, but I underestimated how much. Send help😅

Q: what’s on your October TBR?

My only plan right now is to complete my Maas reread (and maybe read Project Hail Mary AGAIN).

When I reread Queen of Shadows last month, i really did confirm to myself that this is the best book in the series. So many iconic moments. Love this one so much.

Q: How many books did you read this month? Did you have any favourites?

I’m very proud of myself, if I finish Empire of Storms today (I probably will), I’ll have read 13 books this month.

10 of them were rereads haha. My favourite read was my reread of Project Hail Mary, while I decided to read again before being cut open emotionally by the last three ToG books.

The new books I read were:
- The MASH Up by Laura Marie Meyers, which I LOVED!
- Operation Bouncehouse by Matt Dinniman, which was… fine? I didn’t love it but I’m not mad I read it
- The Lost World by Michael Crichton, which I shockingly never read. I read Jurassic Park in high school and I decided to reread that in august. So I thought, hey why not finally read The Lost World. It was incredible. SO different from the movie and I actually liked this book more than the JP book.

After spending most of the year in a massive funk and barely reading, I’m very happy with my reading month. Rereading SJM has been wonderful.

Q: What’s a music video that you love?

I was blown away last night by the music video for Patient Zero.
Seriously if you haven’t seen it yet, I hope you can watch it soon! Truly outstanding.

Q: Tell me about what you did this weekend!

I honestly forgot how excellent this book is. I get so distracted by remembering every insane and intense thing that happens after this, that I forget about all of the insane and intense things that happened IN this.

SO MUCH HAPPENED IN THIS! Gah. Love it so much. This is honestly the book I’ve had the most fun rereading so far.

Q: What is your favourite out of the new encore tracks?

Happy The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore release day!

I love every song so much that choosing a favourite hasn’t been something I’ve been able to do yet 😅 I think? it might be Babylon but I’m not sure yet.

Q: Do you have any prized book possessions?

The super wonderful @darkness0780 gifted the OG Throne of Glass a few years ago and it’s still the greatest gift I ever received. I’m forever grateful 😭

I loved my reread of this book. It’s the least painful of the whole series and I adore watching the trio become friends.

~ NEW SONG ALERT ~

Q: What song have you had on repeat lately?

Taylor decided to move in the most random way today and I’m living for it.

I can’t wait to hear Patient Zero on Friday.

Q: Without spoiling, name a book you’d love to reread all of the time, but you can’t because it’s so emotionally devastating.

This and Kingdom of Ash are the reason why I’ve avoided a reread of this series for so long. But I made it through this one and I’m very proud of myself.

I miss you, I’m sorry will always be my Celaena and Sam song.

~ BOOK REVIEW ~
Thanks @prhaudio for the complimentary audiobook of Room to Breathe by @kasiewest.

Q: Tell me about some of your favourite books you read this summer. This was one of mine!

Room to Breathe has every ounce of charm mixed with layers of emotion that we all expect from Kasie West. The characters she writes and the stories she tells are exactly why we all keep reading her wonderful books.

The entire idea of having the two characters locked in a bathroom overnight was so clever and imaginative. Slowly uncovering the how and why and all of the secrets that lead to Indy and Beau’s friendship falling apart was wildly entertaining, while also being heartfelt.

Often times, duel timelines can be tricky to pull off. But having read (and loved) West’s 2013 novel Pivot Point, I wasn’t worried at all. Her ability to pull off a nonlinear timeline should be studied.

@kdimerc did a fantastic job narrating this one.

Q: Do you think Crescent City is over or do you think there’s more to come?

I’m very happy to say that I enjoyed my time with this book a lot more the second time around. Maybe it’s because, this time, I reread the previous two before diving into it.

But I am so curious if this was the end or not?? Everything seems so wrapped up in a bow and final. But I can’t find any confirmed info for whether more are on the way.

Anyway, thus concludes my Crescent City reread. On to Throne of Glass we go!

~ BOOK REVIEW ~

Thank you @prhaudio for the complimentary audiobook of Our Wicked Gifts by @kathrynfoxfield.

Q: Tell me about some of your favourite audiobook narrators.

Look, as a Gemini, I LIVE for mess and drama. So I knew this book about a billionaire family full of the worst people you’ll ever know, would be absolutely made for me.

When I tell you I devoured this book, I mean it. Read it in a day because I couldn’t put it down.

I will say, if you’re going to read this, read the audiobook. I love when a narrator can make a good book even better. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this book reading a physical copy, but Eleanor Bennett is a born storyteller and added so much emotion and atmosphere that I can’t imagine reading it any other way.

Yes the book is messy and full of unlikable characters, but that’s the fun of it. Also yes, you’ll be left a bit devastated but you’ll come away feeling completely entertained and entranced by such a wonderfully written story.
