Today I stop and look back at a journey most people don’t truly know, a story I rarely share in a world that judges fast.I was born in Curaçao but raised in the Netherlands by a single mother who worked double shifts and carried everything on her shoulders to give me and my brother the best life she could. Many days I felt alone, running the streets, looking for belonging. That freedom came with wrong choices that made me streetwise.At 16, everything collapsed. My mother passed away right before the vacation she waited years for. Losing her felt unreal, like the ground disappeared beneath me. But that pain shaped me in ways words can’t explain. It hardened me and softened me at the same time.At 18, I moved to Curaçao to build a relationship with my father, someone i knew from phone calls and vacations. Something challenging at first but over the years, we found a way to understand each other, and that bond is very meaningful today.Even tried Germany, returned to the Netherlands, but learned that Curaçao is where i belong. So, I moved back in 2014.Then life tested me again. In one month, I lost everything I had built in 1 year. Stress landed me on heart monitoring close to the edge. But that moment woke me up.From that darkness, the depression, feeling lost, I build something: Infinity Group Curaçao, a name that stands for infinite potential, built on the belief that no matter how deep the valley, there’s always a way up.Ten years later, every brick is laid by me. No shortcuts. Just discipline, pain, rising, falling, rebuilding, and refusing to give up.But I’m not where I want to be yet. I still have dreams to chase.But today, on my birthday, I’m proud. Proud of the boy who survived.Proud of the man who kept going.Proud of the soul that refused to stay brokenTo everyone who has walked with me in silence, thank you. Your presence means more than I can ever put into words.Let my story remind you that you can come from pain, loss, and darkness and still rise.I’m not perfect. I’m still learning.
