Sometimes life gives you moments that remind you that what you do reaches further than you think.

Some time ago, @mzett_zns, a Fine Art student from Walter Sisulu University in East London, reached out to me. Her portfolio concept this year is about documenting the lives and culture of motorcyclists. She wanted to understand the mindset, lifestyle, and experiences of riders.

I was happy to share my story with her.

Today she presented this beautiful artwork she created. Seeing your journey, passion, and identity interpreted through someone else’s art is a deeply humbling experience. It reminded me that riding motorcycles is not only about racing, speed, or competition, it is a culture, a way of life, and a story that inspires others in ways we sometimes don’t even realise.

Zamashengu, thank you for choosing to document our world and for honouring my journey through your art. Your talent and dedication are powerful, and I’m proud to have contributed to your academic journey.

Wishing you continued success as you grow in your craft and continue telling the stories of our people and our passions.
