I’m so honored to officially announce myself as the 2026-2027 National Christian Miss Teen!!! 👸✨👑

These past few days at Christian Miss Nationals have been absolutely life-changing! From the workshops led by various leaders, to the devotionals from the National Queens before rehearsals, or even the prayer circles prior to every area of competition, I truly felt God’s presence so firmly! The cherry on top was winning my third National title with the Christian Miss Organization!

I’ve had many people ask me “Why do you keep coming back to Christian Miss?” The answer is simple: it’s so much more than just a pageant system- it’s family. This year, I was grateful to share with the judges during my interview just how life-changing this organization has been for me. When I faced the worst of my health issues in 2022, my Christian Miss family stood right by my side and pointed me back towards Christ when I thought my life didn’t have any meaning. I truly would not be where I am today in my faith, my education, or my health journey without their genuine support.

Throughout my year of reign, it is my prayer to reflect that same love of Christ to every person I meet- just as this wonderful organization first showed it to me.

My Parents: I am grateful for your support in every activity I’m involved in, especially pageants! Sometimes I don’t realize how lucky I am to have parents like you!

My Pageant Coach, Katie: Thank you for teaching me so much about pageantry and always encouraging me to be my authentic self!

Now that I’m officially logged in to the National Christian Miss Teen account (after some technology issues), it’s time to formally introduce myself! 👑🎻🩷🎗️🩰💐🛍️

Hello everyone!! My name is Vanessa Koelling and I am the 2026-2027 National Christian Miss Teen! I’m from Kingsley, Iowa, but will be attending college in the fall at Concordia University Nebraska as a Biology Major, Micah (Pre-Health) Scholar, and a Presidential Scholar. This is actually my THIRD national title with Christian Miss! I was also the 2021-2022 National Christian Miss Preteen and the 2023-2024 National Christian Miss Jr. Teen.

My platform is called The Comeback Coalition, in which it’s my goal to unite patients and Healthcare Heroes to turn trials of pain into stories of success. After being diagnosed with CRPS and Dysautonomia in 2022, I realized just how much compassionate healthcare matters, so I wanted to give back to the medical system that has given so much to me! Therefore, I create Healthcare Hero Appreciation Gift Baskets filled with snacks, drinks, self-care items, and complete with a handwritten card. I have donated these individually to 6 states and counting! I also volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, make fleece blankets for patients, raise awareness for rare diseases on social media, and share my own testimony through health challenges.

My favorite piece of scripture is Isaiah 41:10. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

My career goal is to become a Pain Management Anesthesiologist! Some other fun facts about me are that I was selected as a 2026 Iowa Governor’s Scholar, graduated as Valedictorian, was a Varsity Golfer, love going to Lake Okoboji, am a dancer, absolutely LOVE musicals, enjoy traveling, and I will be on my college’s Forensics Team!

I have officially completed orientation, training, and am now an official volunteer at CHI St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska! This is yet another way I am promoting compassionate healthcare through my platform, “The Comeback Coalition”! 🏥🩺👩‍⚕️

I’m so grateful to be able to spend 4 hours each week volunteering my time. I get to work at the Surgery Area Hospitality Desk by serving as the liaison between the surgeons/surgical staff and the patient’s families. I’m able to provide general updates and comfort family members while their loved ones are in surgery.

I absolutely love being able to share the light of Jesus with people going through some of the most challenging times. Sometimes simply sharing a smile, conversing with family members who want a distraction from the stress of the surgery, and helping them find different locations throughout the building, have the power to brighten someone’s day!

This has already been such a rewarding experience and I’m so excited to continue volunteering here for (hopefully) years to come! taken in Lincoln, Nebraska by @iam_vanessakoelling

Happy World Animal Day!!! 🐈‍⬛🐱🐈

This weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Blue River Pet Rescue and my best friend, who works there, was able to show me around! Can you guess what my favorite animal is?? Definitely cats!!

I got lots of snuggles with all of the kittens and cats that Blue River currently has. Sometimes, simply just giving animals some love is the most meaningful thing you can do and with my busy college schedule, I still found time to get out and do something as a “Paw Prints Across the World Ambassdor,” for my sister queen, Kaylea’s, platform!

Tonight, I attended the Concordia University Nebraska President’s Scholarship Recipient Dinner, hosted by President Bull! 🎓✨🏫

I’m so grateful to be recognized as one of only around 15 students in the 2030 graduating class (of over 400 students) who met the GPA and ACT/SAT score requirements to receive this honor! This is the highest academic scholarship that Concordia University Nebraska offers and I worked so incredibly hard to achieve it!

All glory to God and I’m eager to see everything he does in my life over these next 4 years at CUNE! I’m grateful to be at a school where the professors pray for you, Chapel services are available daily, and Christ is at the center! by @iam_vanessakoelling

Last Tuesday, I volunteered with the other Concordia University Nebraska Micah Pre-Health Scholars by playing BINGO and socializing with the residents at Ridgewood Retirement Home in Seward, Nebraska! ✨❤️

This was such a fun experience being able to interact with residents from the community, play some awesome rounds of BINGO, and enjoy the night with other like-minded college students! I’m super excited to be one of eight students in the freshman class selected to be a part of the Micah Scholars Program! by @iam_vanessakoelling

Day in the Life of your National Christian Miss Teen as a Freshman in College! 📚✨✏️👑📓

I thought I would share what a regular day in the life looks like for me right now at Concordia University Nebraska! It’s definitely taken a little bit of adjusting to get used to the college atmosphere, but I’m absolutely thriving here at CUNE! Today, we remember and never forget September 11, 2001. ❤️🤍💙

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor those we lost, the families who never got to say goodbye, and the first responders who risked their lives. On this day, Americans showed courage in some of the darkest moments that this country has ever seen.

Even in the midst of one of the greatest hardships in United States’ history, compassion brought our country together like never before. As Senator John Kerry states, “It was the worst day we have ever seen, but it brought out the best in all of us.”

Remember to pause, reflect, and remember the impact that this day had on our nation. May it serve as a reminder that courage and unity are some of the most important virtues to uphold when we go through deep waters.

I’ve completed my first week of college and it’s been AWESOME!!! 🤍👑✨

I’m so excited for the semester ahead and all of the fun activities/clubs that I am a part of! It’s definitely been a bit of a whirlwind, but overall I have adjusted great to my new life as a college student so far! Wishing a (belated) Happy Birthday to the UNSTOPPABLE, Kayla Blackwell!!! 🎁👸🎂✨🎈

My long distance best friend, biggest cheerleader, and an inspiring mentor— wow I am so grateful to know this PHENOMENAL queen!! Kayla and I quickly became best friends during our year of reign together as National Christian Miss Queens in 2023-2024! We instantly clicked and now I can proudly say I have a close friend from Arizona! Kayla is truly the most beautiful person you will ever meet, both inside and out!
