They want to hear from YOU. Your voice matters immensely in this project - it is covering a range of women’s health issues and has great potential for real change!! You do not need to be a scholar to submit something. Marielle herself has said to think of it like writing them a letter and sharing your experience. There’s something special about meeting someone whose work you’ve admired for years…and discovering they’re every bit as lovely in person as you’d hoped 😃💜 (in fact she probably isn’t enjoying my accolades right now😉- that’s the humility she brings 🥰)

@birthtrauma.org.au BIRTH TRAUMA AUSTRALIA’S very own @amydawes07 Amy Dawes joined a beautiful group of women from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, as we shared and listened to stories and hopes for better birth trauma support and trauma informed compassionate care - for our CALD families.

Such important conversations and such a privilege to be a part of them.

👌🏽👏🏽👶🏼👨🏽WHAT A MORNING! @manwithapramaus the reel says it all: community, care and a HUGE HIGHLIGHT ON MENS PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH!!👏🏽👏🏽

1 in 10 dads will experience perinatal anxiety and depression. It’s real and IT MATTERS. This event gathered us together to walk in support of supporting our dads - wherever they are in their fathering journey.

🥳It was such a privilege to be a part of the Defence community today as they celebrated the 1st birthday of Lives Lived Well Veterans’ and Families’ Wellbeing Hub here in the north. @liveslivedwell 💛

A beautiful place of support and connection for those who serve, those who have served, and the families who journey alongside them in service to our country.

I absolutely loved meeting so many of you and being welcomed into such an amazing and wonderful space.

Days like today make me proud to be Playford’s citizen of the year- very cool things happening in the north👌🏽💜

✨Sometimes the photos really are beautiful.
And we should absolutely celebrate those moments.

⚠️But in my experience working alongside families, there can also be an enormous pressure to make everything look okay.

⛔️To smile when you’re struggling.
⛔️To say “we’re good” when you’re not really sure you are.
⛔️To keep going because somehow, showing that you’re finding parenthood hard can feel like admitting weakness.

⚠️But it ISN’T weakness.

❣️Sometimes, being honest about what you’re carrying is one of the STRONGEST things you can do.

Because behind the beautiful photos, parents can be carrying anxiety, depression, grief, fear, birth trauma, exhaustion, overwhelm or simply the weight of trying to navigate a season that turned out very differently than they imagined.

So if something doesn’t feel quite right beneath the smiles, it’s never a mistake to be curious.

To pause.

To talk to someone you trust.

To ask, “Is this normal?”

And to find out more.

You don’t have to wait until you’re falling apart to deserve support. 🤍

Sometimes the first step isn’t fixing anything.

It’s simply letting someone know what’s really going on.
