If you’re new here… hi. 👋❤️ I’m Adelle. A 44-year-old working mum creating more choices and memories, wife, ADHD-er, holiday lover and believer that life shouldn’t be something we simply survive until retirement. For years I thought wanting more meant I wasn’t grateful for what I already had. Now I know that’s not true. I love my family. I love being a mum. I love my career. But I also wanted more choices, more flexibility and a little less financial pressure. So this page is where I document all of it. The wins. The chaos. The school runs. The overthinking. The extra income I’m building. The holidays. The ADHD. The ordinary moments that end up meaning the most. If you’ve ever thought… “Surely life can feel a little lighter than this…” …you’re in the right place. Tell me something about you below. I’d genuinely love to get to know you. ❤️ by @iamadelleroby
I didn’t start looking for another income… I started looking for myself. If you’d met me a few years ago, you probably would’ve thought I had life all figured out. A career. A husband I adore. Two incredible boys. A good life. And I did. But deep down, I kept wondering… “Is this really it?” Then life changed me. Losing my dad before he got to enjoy the retirement he’d worked so hard for completely changed how I looked at time. Years later, being diagnosed with ADHD at 42 helped me understand myself in a way I never had before. I realised I wasn’t trying to escape my life. I was trying to create more choices around it. More flexibility. More opportunities. More confidence. More memories with the people I love. Today, I’m still a working mum. I’m still in corporate. I’m still juggling work, family and real life. But I no longer believe life has to happen on someone else’s timetable. This page isn’t about quitting your job or pretending life is perfect. It’s about helping working mums create more choices around the life they already have. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learnt… It’s that “one day” isn’t guaranteed. And if you’ve ever caught yourself thinking… “I love my life… but I don’t want this to be all my life becomes.” Then you’re exactly who I created this page for. ❤️ by @iamadelleroby
I don’t think working mums actually want an easier life! I think they just want more choices. More choice over how they spend their time. More choice over whether they can say yes to the family day out without worrying about the cost. More choice over taking a day off for sports day. More choice over their future. Most of us don’t want to stop working. We just don’t want work to be the thing that dictates every decision we make. by @iamadelleroby
Being diagnosed at 43 was one big “ohhh, THAT’S why” moment, followed by a wave of emotion as everything finally started to make sense 🤍 If you’ve had a later diagnosis (or you’re wondering), which slide was you? 👇 #adhdwomen #lateadhddiagnosis #adhdover40 #workingmumuk mumsover40 by @iamadelleroby
Which one are you? 👻🧛‍♀️🧙‍♀️💀🧟‍♀️😈🎃 I was definitely the zombie on slide 2. Sofa, 10pm, cold cuppa, scrolling Instagram and wondering how everyone else seemed to have it all figured out. Everyone online is telling you to ghost your 9–5. I’m not! I’m a 44-year-old working mum on part-time, term-time hours, and I’m keeping them. They’re how I get to be there for my boys. But I wanted more breathing room for the extras, and I didn’t want to do more hours to get it. So 3 years ago I started earning online through a travel business. Somewhere along the way I realised the bit I loved most wasn't the bookings. It was creating content, building a brand and the community I found online. So this month I started properly learning digital marketing. That's how to show up online, build trust, recommend things people genuinely need and actually sell. Basically, I'm learning to use what I already do on my phone every night on purpose. If you’re thinking “I’d love that, but I wouldn’t know where to start”, here’s where I’d begin: 1️⃣ Notice what you already share or recommend online 2️⃣ Learn the basics of how Instagram actually works 3️⃣ Start before you feel ready. Nobody does. Want the beginner course I recommend for mums starting from scratch? Comment BOO and I’ll send you the details 👻 (And no, I’ve not been to the pyramids dressed as a mummy. Yet. These are AI 😂) Happy Halloween 🎃 #workingmumuk #mumsover40 #extraincome #digitalmarketingforbeginners parttimemum halloweencarousel by @iamadelleroby
My paid job comes with part-time hours. Apparently, my other 37 roles don’t. 😂 Chef in a restaurant where nobody wants the same dinner. Taxi driver with no tips and a back seat full of crumbs. Personal assistant to people who announce they need something for school… as they’re leaving. And the only person in the house who can apparently SEE what needs doing. 🫠 Working mum life means finishing work and immediately starting the next shift. The school runs. The washing. The appointments. Remembering what everyone needs, where they’re going and whether their PE kit is clean. That mental load doesn’t get smaller because your paid hours do. I’m 44, working part-time and term-time, and I love being there for my boys. But being grateful for those hours doesn’t mean I’m never exhausted or allowed to want more for myself. More breathing room with money. More time to feel like me. Something I enjoy that’s mine. It’s why I’m learning digital marketing — how to turn things I already enjoy sharing online into additional income, around the family life I’ve worked hard to create. One step at a time. ❤️ If you’re a working mum over 40 juggling all the job titles too, you’re in good company here. What role have I missed? Wrong answers absolutely welcome. 😂👇 #WorkingMum #WorkingMumLife #MentalLoad #MumsOver40 #PartTimeWorkingMum MotherhoodUnfiltered DigitalMarketingJourney by @iamadelleroby
You want extra money for your family. But going full-time would mean giving up the time you want that money for. ❤️ The school holidays. The afternoons together. Being there. If you’re a working mum over 40 trying to earn more without increasing your working hours, you’ll understand why this Budget announcement caught my attention. The government has announced that the UK Trading Allowance will rise from £1,000 to £3,000 from 6 April 2027 for qualifying trading income. It hasn’t changed yet, and eligibility rules apply. But the higher allowance could mean keeping more of what you earn from a side business. More towards the school trip letter. Christmas without quite so much juggling. Making memories with your children. I’m 44, working part-time and term-time, and I’m not prepared to give those hours up just because I want more money. That’s why I’m learning digital marketing—how to turn the content and recommendations I already enjoy sharing online into opportunities to earn additional income. I know how overwhelming it feels when you’re interested but haven’t a clue where to start. You save another post, watch another video… and still don’t know what to do first. Having a course to follow is helping me take it step by step: 1️⃣ Understand who I’m talking to and what could help her. 2️⃣ Create useful content around something I know or enjoy. 3️⃣ Learn how to connect that content to a relevant product or offer. It takes learning, time and effort. There’s no guaranteed income. But you don’t have to figure every step out alone. If your “I’ll look into it one day” keeps getting pushed behind everyone else’s needs, let this be your invitation to explore your options. Comment INFO and I’ll send you details of the beginner digital marketing course I’m learning from, so you can see whether it fits your life. You’ve worked hard to protect your family time. Wanting more income doesn’t mean you want to give it up. ❤️ Source: GOV.UK Budget 2026, published 28 October 2026. Things we need to STOP normalising for working mums… because, honestly, they’re ridiculous. Last week, I spoke about what we SHOULD normalise. This week, we need to talk about what we need to STOP normalising. 👀 Working while raising kids is already a lot — whether we work full-time, part-time or term-time. But apparently, we’ve also decided that some pretty ridiculous expectations are just part of being a working mum. “You only work part-time.” “But your kids are older now.” “Just work more hours if you want more money.” Some of these comments have become so normal that we barely question them anymore. We’re expected to keep everything running, remember everything and somehow find a better “balance” when it all gets too much. And wanting more money? Apparently, that means we should be willing to give up more time with our families. Well, I’m questioning that. I’m 44. I worked hard to get my part-time, term-time hours, and I’m not prepared to give them up just because I want more breathing room with money. It’s the exact reason I’ve started learning how to earn online — how to turn what I already share online into an additional income. Because I refuse to accept that working more hours in my job is my only option. I want the school pick-ups, the holidays with my boys AND money to enjoy that time together. I’m willing to learn something new to work towards that. ❤️ If you’re a working mum who’s ever wondered who the hell decided all of this was normal, follow along for more honest, unfiltered working motherhood — and what I’m learning about earning online around it. I’m right here in the middle of it with you. What else have we normalised for working mums that makes absolutely no sense? 👇 #WorkingMumsUK #WorkingMumLife #MumsOver40 #PartTimeWorkingMum #DigitalMarketingForBeginners by @iamadelleroby
Mums it’s half term and you have no more holidays left to take so the kids have been shipped off to grandparents, football clubs etc …… your currently working just to pay for the childcare this week! You just say ‘You know how it is’ 🫨🫠……. I was done trading family time for money ….. if this is you too then follow along to see how I’m earning without going full time or giving up my term time working hour #workingmumlife #busymumlife #termtimeworking #mumsearnonline #planb by @iamadelleroby
As a working mum over 40, who fought so hard for her term time & part time working hours ….. Monday evening, October half term hits differently. Earning extra income should not come at the cost of giving up family time, school holidays or wkds! This feeling of calm this evening is exactly why I’m learning to build another income through digital marketing WITHOUT increasing my 9-5 hours. And if you’re a mum who isn’t willing to trade family time for money then follow along to see if this could fit you too. #extraincomeover40 #termtimeworkingmum #mumearningonline #learningonlineincome #mumswantingmore by @iamadelleroby
Public service announcement 🚨 Water alone doesn’t remove dirt, sweat, or that mysterious smell coming from you boys 😂🧼 Why is it that they think *standing under the shower* counts as cleaning? Like babe… soap exists for a reason! If only they used it as much as they use their Xbox controller 🤣 Mums, please tell me I’m not alone in this daily reminder mission 🫣👇 #MumLife #BoyMum #ParentingHumour #MumHackMonday #MumStruggles #RelatableMum #MumOfBoys #ParentingReality #KeepingItReal #FunnyMum #BecauseMumSaidSo #ModernParenting #MumCommunity by @iamadelleroby
I WANT MORE MONEY. But I don’t want to work more hours. 🙋🏼‍♀️ There. I said it. 😂 I’m a 44-year-old working mum. I work part-time and term-time, and I’ve worked bloody hard to get that flexibility. So why, when we want to earn more money, is the answer always to go full-time, pick up overtime or get a second job? I haven’t lost my ambition. I’ve just changed what I’m willing to sacrifice. I want more income. More family holidays. More financial breathing room. More choices. But NOT at the expense of the time I’ve fought so hard to protect. That’s why I’m learning how to build additional income online, alongside my corporate job, on MY terms. Because working part-time doesn’t mean I’m only PART ambitious. 👏🏼 💬 Working mums, tell me… would you rather earn more by working extra hours, or find another way? #WorkingMumsOver40 #PartTimeWorkingMum #TermTimeWorking #ExtraIncomeIdeas #EarnMoneyOnline FlexibleIncome WorkingMumLife WomenOver40 WorkLifeBalance DigitalMarketingForBeginners OnlineIncome MumLife by @iamadelleroby
