POSTS STORIES REELS

So I did a thing. 😅

In 15 minutes, @midlifewithjenny and I are launching a YouTube channel called Midlife Unfiltered.

No polished corporate speak.
No pretending we have it all figured out.
Just two women in midlife having the conversations we wish someone had with us ten years ago.

4 videos dropping at 8 PM tonight:
✨ Who we are (and why we’re slightly terrified)
✨ What modern midlife actually is
✨ The mindset shift nobody talks about
✨ Our reinvention stories: the unfiltered version

If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and thought “what now?, this one’s for you.

Last Saturday, we gathered 30 women at Temu House for Start. Stop. Shift., an afternoon built around the pivots that come (often unexpectedly) with midlife.

Three incredible women, Margaret Chew, Rejina Rahim and Alice Au, shared the truth about their own biggest transitions. A mountain not finished. A redefinition of failure. A season where everything changed at once and had to be rebuilt.

When we opened the floor for questions, something unexpected happened. Nobody asked a question. They stood up to thank the speakers, then stayed to share their own stories with each other.

This is what Menopause Asia is here for. Not just the hormones and the hot flushes, but the community that reminds you you’re not alone in this season.

A heartfelt thank you to Temu House for hosting us, and to Rhymba Hills Tea for the tea and gifts that made the morning feel so special.

If this is the season you’re navigating too, we’re here. DM us to join our tribe.

Another lovely evening sharing stories and experiences with the next generation of global managers! 🌏😊

So happy to be invited back by the University of Buckingham for an online session with their Year 2 Business Studies students!

After more than 15 years working across international markets and living on two continents, I’ve certainly collected plenty of experiences, lessons and mistakes along the way! 😂

This time, we shared about working across different cultures, understanding international markets and how they can start preparing themselves for the global workplace.

It’s wonderful knowing that some of my experiences might help these future managers navigate their own journeys.

One thing I always believe: Stay curious, keep an open mind and never assume your way is the only way!

Thanks again for having me! And wishing all the students an exciting journey ahead! ❤️

Life is beautiful. And sometimes, it hurts.

Both can be true at the same time. We don’t have to choose.

For a long time, I tried to run from the painful parts. I thought if I didn’t look at them, they would go away. They didn’t. What changed things for me was learning to sit with the contradiction instead of hiding from it.

Change has a strange way of giving us new eyes. Something that once broke us can, with time, be held with a little humour. A little wisdom. A lot of humanity.

And here’s what surprised me most. Our mind is more flexible than we think. The story we have been telling ourselves for years? We can tell it differently.

So I want to ask you this. What if life has a gift on its way to you, right now, while you are still in the middle of the hard part?

You don’t need to have it all figured out. Let yourself feel it. Then take one small step. And then another.

The pain is real. So is the gift. by @iamaliceau

What a beautiful Saturday spent with amazing people in KL! ❤️

Feeling so honoured to share the stage with two incredible women, Margaret & Rejina and a wonderful facilitator, Jo who created such a safe space for us to share our journeys and stories.

Sometimes, strength isn’t about holding everything together. It’s about allowing ourselves to feel and be human. ❤️

And to all the lovely new friends I met, thank you for making KL feel a little more like home! 🥰 This Saturday will stay in my heart for a long time.

And yes, we’re definitely not done yet! 💛

A few weeks ago, Alice Au of Prime Midlife and Joanne Ho, our founder at Menopause Asia sat down with radio host Joanne Kam ahead of this Saturday’s event, and the conversation started peeling Alice’s story really fast.

Redundancy. A health scare. A divorce. All inside the same stretch of time. Alice talks about what actually got her through having all three at once, and it isn’t the kind of resilience talk you’re used to hearing.

T𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘦’𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘚𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘺. Alice is one of three women joining us for START. STOP. SHIFT. YOU’RE NOT DONE - a conversation about what evolving in midlife actually looks like.

Saturday, 31 October, 9:30am to 12pm, Temu House, Petaling Jaya. Only 30 seats, a few left.

Come meet Alice (and the rest of the fabulous lineup of speakers)

Comment “𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐅𝐓” and we’ll send you the details to join Alice and others for a morning conversation on 31 October.

At 40, Alice was made redundant, her marriage ended and her health gave way, after 7 years in insurance in Singapore and 15 years in banking in London.

When her father called and asked her to come home, she said no. She told him she’d make her comeback from the same place she fell, even with no idea how. That was her shift.

Years later, back in Asia, the bad sleep, low energy and feeling “off” started. She thought it was the stress of rebuilding. It wasn’t. It was perimenopause. Her take: why choose to suffer when you don’t have to?

What she learned: “Rock bottom isn’t the end of the story. It’s where you find out what you’re actually capable of.”

Today, Alice is the founder of Prime Midlife, a community for professionals 40+ across Asia Pacific.

Meet 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘂, day 14 of #SeenAtMidlife.

Alice is a life coach and speaker, a serial founder and a self-confessed mocha lover who is living her prime midlife. At first, menopause was confusing, and she did not know if it was menopause, life stress or something wrong with her. Once she listened to her body and sought advice, her quality of life improved, and now she keeps doing what she loves and building the life and businesses that matter to her.

She started investing more time in her body in her 40s, with a personal trainer to build strength safely and BodyCombat twice a week, which she loves. The best thing about her age is knowing exactly what she wants, no longer needing everyone to agree with her and handling things more gracefully.

Alice is also speaking at SHIFT at our START. STOP. SHIFT. event on 31 October. Details in tonight’s post.

Find Alice on Instagram at @iamaliceau .

Follow along all October, and tag a woman who deserves to be seen. This year’s theme is “Chronic Pain at Midlife”.

Your body isn’t broken. It’s just speaking a language you haven’t learned yet. 🫶

In midlife, sleep changes, energy crashes, slower recovery and a metabolism with a mind of its own can leave us wondering, “What happened to my body?”

But maybe the answer isn’t to fight it — maybe it’s to listen, understand and work with it.

Alice Au from Prime Midlife and Jenny Lee from Midlife Clover Community get real about the physical changes of midlife, what they mean, and how we can learn to care for our bodies differently.

✨ Different doesn’t mean less.
