This power-code of sports is unlikely to change. What do you think? by @iamamitamalhotra

Why should young athletes have to choose between sport and education?

That was the question at the heart of our 7th Raising An Athlete Sports Talk Series, held on Friday, 23 October at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on Designing Schools for Athletes: Rethinking Education for the Modern Student-Athlete.

We had a wonderful evening of conversations around the realities of balancing training, competitions and exams, and what schools can do differently to support young athletes.

A big thank you to Ms Shashi Banerjee, Mr Rohit Kapoor, Ms Aakanksha Thapak and Ms Shriyanka Sadangi for sharing their experiences and perspectives so openly. And to everyone who joined us and added to the conversation, thank you for being a part of it.

Sharing a few moments from the evening. We’ll announce the next edition of Raising An Athlete soon. Stay tuned!

When does a young athlete need a sports psychologist? The million-dollar question every sports parent is asking.

@paddyupton, one of the world’s top high-performance coaches, who has worked with India’s 2011 Cricket World Cup-winning team, chess world champion D. Gukesh, and India’s Olympic bronze-winning hockey team, doesn’t mince words on this one.

What does it really mean to be mentally tough?

Hear it from @paddyupton, the high-performance coach who worked with India’s 2011 Cricket World Cup-winning team, chess world champion D. Gukesh, and the Indian men’s hockey team that won bronze at the Paris Olympics.

His perspective in the Episode 26 of Raising An Athlete with Amita Malhotra @iamamitamalhotra , challenges what we think we know about mental toughness.

Whether you’re an athlete, a parent or navigating the corporate world, save this reminder.

Save this post for your next game day. Rather than rushing into a discussion after a tournament, following the 24-hour rule gives your young athlete time to reflect and open up when they’re ready. by @iamamitamalhotra

What does a good car ride home after a game actually look like?

We’ve all been tempted to ask, “So, how did you play?” the moment our child gets into the car.

But what if the best conversations happen when we stop talking about the game?

In Episode 25 of Raising An Athlete with Amita, Prof. Jordan Sutcliffe, Assistant Professor at the Royal Military College of Canada and a sport psychology researcher, shares simple, thoughtful questions that can be useful reference on your next car ride.

If there is one player who is most special for us to watch whenever an international field tees it up in India, it has to be @eugeniochacarra.

He really won our hearts when we first watched him win his maiden DP World title at the 2025 Indian Open at DLF Golf & Country Club. It was just the kind of story that we love as sports fans - he arrived on a sponsor invite and that win transformed his trajectory as he earned a full DP World Tour exemption status through 2027. The fashion in which he won - entering the final round with a one-shot lead but making a double bogey on the 1st hole and a bogey on the 3rd and fighting back with five birdies to win by two strokes, it was just so very amazing to watch!

What an incredible run he is has had in the last 12 months winning multiple European events and incredibly is ahead of Rory Mclroy in his Race to Dubai standing, (a few points behind Patrick Reed as he enters the @dpwic). If he wins this, or builds a lead on Rory and Patrick, he will be crowned the new European No. 1.

Told him when we met today, he is the one we are rooting for in the Race to Dubai! ❤️

Update: Met @eugeniochacarra on Wednesday, the pro-am day. Sunday today - He won! If only our golf instincts came with a million dollar payout 😂
