Some of the greatest lessons in life aren’t taught in a classroom. They’re discovered through experiences, relationships, and moments that challenge the way we see the world.

I took some time to reflect on the trip and put together five principles that I believe apply to leadership, business, and life. And while these lessons were reinforced in Madeira, they’re principles I’ve seen make a difference everywhere I’ve had the opportunity to lead. Because growth isn’t just about what you learn. It’s about what you allow what you’ve learned to change.

Swipe through these five lessons. 👉

I’m curious… which one speaks to you the most right now? by @iamandrebutler

Spent the last three days in Madeira with some incredible people. Entrepreneurs flew in from all over Europe, and what an experience it was! 😃

We explored some pretty epic places, shared ideas, challenged each other’s thinking, and came together for a mastermind that reminded me why I love what I get to do.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that some of the greatest breakthroughs don’t happen on a stage or in a training room. They happen in conversations. When people with different experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds come together, something powerful happens. You begin to see possibilities you hadn’t considered, question limitations you didn’t realize you had, and discover that sometimes the wisdom you need is sitting right across the table from you.

The right conversations don’t just give you new information. They expand what you believe is possible. And that’s what made these three days so special. Because let me tell y’all something, that hike was 😩🙏🏽

I’m truly honored that I get to travel the world, build meaningful relationships, serve incredible people, and have a whole lot of fun along the way.

Madeira, you were something special! 🇵🇹

Some news, and it matters to me.

Starting this week, this page becomes my family and faith space. Our marriage, our kids, our church and the real life behind the work.

Everything you’ve followed me for, the leadership, mindset, business and growth, is moving to @leadwithandre. That’s where I’ll be posting every day.

If you’re here to grow, follow me there. If you’re family, I’m not going anywhere.

Perhaps the greatest test of your leadership isn’t how you treat those who honor you, but whether you can still carry a towel for those who may never appreciate what you’ve poured into them. by @iamandrebutler

You don’t know what you don’t know. And that’s the gap.

A weakness you can see gives you somewhere to start. But a blind spot is different. It can limit your growth without ever making you aware that you’re being limited.

Growth begins when you become willing to question what you think you know. by @iamandrebutler

Leadership requires sight.

And sometimes the most dangerous thing in leadership isn’t what you see wrong. It’s what you’ve learned to see as normal.

You can normalize dysfunction because it’s familiar. Normalize misalignment because it’s manageable. Normalize stagnation because things are still working.

Until one day, what you tolerated quietly becomes what limits you publicly.

That’s why mature leaders keep asking: What am I not seeing? Not because they lack vision, but because they understand that success can make you just as blind as failure.

Every new level requires the courage to see something your current level allowed you to ignore. by @iamandrebutler

PROPHETS & THE MARKETPLACE 🌎⚔️

The prophetic was never meant to be confined to the four walls of the church.

God is raising prophetic voices who can hear Him in business, leadership, finance, media, and every sphere of influence.

At The Garrison of the Prophets Campmeeting, we’re bringing together marketplace leaders for a necessary conversation on what it means to carry the voice, wisdom, and strategies of God into the marketplace.

How does the prophetic function in business? How do you discern divine strategy? How do you build, lead, create wealth, and influence culture without compromising your Kingdom assignment?

The prophets belong in the marketplace too.

ACTIVATION. EDUCATION. IMPARTATION.
Take your place in the Garrison. 🏰 by @iamandrebutler

Strategy matters.

But strategy can take you somewhere your identity doesn’t believe you belong. That’s when self-sabotage starts. You get the opportunity and suddenly feel like an imposter. You finally have the money and become terrified of losing it. You get invited into the room and spend the entire time wondering why you’re there.

That’s why leadership development can’t only be external. You have to grow internally too. Because eventually your life will collide with what you believe you’re worthy of carrying.

This is one of the ceilings I’ve spent a lot of time studying.

The Identity Ceiling.

I unpack this and the other ceilings that quietly limit our growth in my new book, The Leadership Ceilings.

I wrote a book. You should read it 😊 People are loving it and I think you will too 😉🙏🏽

We all say growth matters, but your calendar will tell you the truth.

If you’re always the one teaching, leading, speaking, pouring out, and giving the answers… when are you being challenged?

There’s a danger in always being the smartest person in the room. Eventually, every room starts confirming what you already know instead of exposing you to what you don’t.

If your life is all output and no input, your influence may be expanding while your perspective is shrinking.

Growth requires rooms where you listen more than you speak. Conversations that challenge your assumptions. People who know things you don’t. Books that make you rethink what you thought you knew.

Being needed can feel like growth because everyone is pulling something from you. But pouring out is not the same as growing.

Sometimes the next level isn’t another room where you have something to teach.

It’s finding a room where you have something to learn.

So look at your calendar.

Where have you intentionally made room to not be the smartest person in the room? by @iamandrebutler

“People like me don’t do things like that.”

Be careful with the sentences you repeat about yourself. What starts as a description can quietly become a definition and eventually, a decision.

We rarely move beyond what we believe is possible for us. That’s why some of the greatest limitations in our lives aren’t circumstances; they’re conclusions we made about ourselves years ago and never questioned again.

Before you call something “just who I am,” ask yourself: Where did I learn to believe this and does it still deserve the authority to shape who I become? by @iamandrebutler

Be careful not to neglect the very people you’re sacrificing for. Sometimes we get so busy building a better life for our family that we forget our family is the life we were trying to build. by @iamandrebutler
