“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only 𝓁𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 can do that.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (read on...) I believe in the “redemptive power” of love Dr. King preached on. If you don’t know what I’m referring to, look up his “Loving Your Enemies” sermon. He speaks on the power of love and how it can transform the hearts of individuals, particularly your enemies. The power of your love despite someone else’s bitterness/mistreatment has the ability to soften their heart. As he says “there is something about love that builds up and is creative. There is something about hate that tears down and is destructive. So love your enemies”. I think regardless of whether or not your redemptive love is reciprocated or appreciated by your “enemies”... it is not love wasted. It is a chance for you to feel a touch of God’s goodness in our world, and it is a chance for you to show examples of His mercy. Because I know that even in my attempts to care for the people important to me (those I’d consider “friends”, not enemies), I am imperfect. I’ve made mistakes, I’ve caused pain, and I’ve caused heartbreak. And it’s a reminder to me that if a redemptive love can drive out hatred from enemies, hopefully it can do the same for those I truly love. taken in Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial by @iamashlynconnor

⭐️ SOUND ON ⭐️ - Have you seen me kick off the show yet??🎤🇺🇸 I literally still can’t believe this happened. I’m so thankful the Lord blessed me with the wonderful opportunity to sing the National Anthem @rodeohouston . If you knew the story behind it, you’d see how God set everything in place so perfectly for me. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.... #rodeohouston #nationalanthem #everynight #lookforme #rodeo #houston #singing #countrymusic #dreamcometrue taken in RODEOHOUSTON by @iamashlynconnor

Mary Did You Know.
A truly beautiful song about Jesus’ birth and the journey Mary had before her as His immaculate mother.
