On the 1st of January, I didn’t even think about marathons. I didn’t even know how far they were or if I can even run. When I got asked to go for a run, I laughed so hard because “I don’t run”. In April someone asked me about doing a marathon in 2026, and I was laughing again “I can’t run more than 10k”, in May I booked Amsterdam and Paris marathon alone. I had two goals and one of them I knew for sure I will accomplish, the second goal someone asked me about and I said unfortunately I can’t accomplish. 2 weeks before my birthday weekend… fast forward to the best birthday weekend of my life. I’ve accomplished both goals but exceeded them. I kept saying how lucky I was just to be able to make this happen for myself. Truth be told I really trained hard this year and have been working on myself for a long time. 2024 vs 2025 360 degree change and I’ve been the happiest I’ve been, reflecting today at smiling laughing me and actually being happy me! Running has completely changed my life and has given me everything that was missing. ❤️❤️❤️ by @iamathleteb

Life happens when you’re having so much fun! Unforgettable First Marathon and birthday weekend! All I could think of is - I’m just lucky to be here for the entire race. Lived & enjoyed every second of the race. Cannot wait to do it all again! Also not sure if my heart was racing faster than my legs ❤️❤️❤️ #runna #marathontraining #runnerlife #runnerlifestyle #luxembourgmarathon #runner #weekstats #adidasrunning #asicsrunning #londonrunning #parismarathon #batterseaparkrunning #runnersofinstagram #runclub #friends #london #quotes #lisbonsuperhalf by @iamathleteb
Don’t let yourself be guided by your emotions. I woke up today and my brain was so clear! Never rush into making choices, always have options and make sure you’re never limiting yourself. Today I’ve opened my eyes and saw that life has endless choices. Last year I believed I couldn’t and I’ve proved myself I can! I am strong and I always have angels around me even if I can’t see them. #marathonrunner #returningtorun #runnerlifestyle #runningconfidence #lovemylife by @iamathleteb

Between km 5 and 7, I wanted to stop because I was thinking that I always want to give my all and perform better and better and today it won’t be that. But then I thought to myself, today is not about running faster and run past people. It’s about enjoying the return to run and how far I’ve come in my recovery. It’s building a foundation for my future performance, to show myself that I’ve learned all the lessons. Then I remembered about the book I’ve read by Matt Fitzgerald - how bad do you want it? And I answered that I want to get back badly and it was the boost I needed to smile, laugh and get out of the hole. There was a point where I was singing out loud 🤣🤣🤣 apologising to the other runner 🤪. #bucharesthalfmarathon #runnerlifestyle #marathonrunner #returntorun by @iamathleteb

What happens during taper week shapes an athlete’s marathon block! Remembered that Thoughtless by Korn was my favourite song from them when I was a kid. Having fun on your own and enjoying your own company is the best. When marathon training starts my top 5 things will be : pub, cider, rugby, football and bed. Maybe all together at the same time 😅. You can’t control the outcome but you can always follow the process. I always wake up happy, laughing, singing and dancing because I’m crazy but also because everyday is a gift! Who cares?! 😅❤️ Indie runner here with some electronic beats #letsdosomehashtagsthatdontevenmeananything by @iamathleteb

One thing that stayed with me today from our More than a run event, was Calm founder’s words 1 in 18. 1 in 18 which could be your mate, your colleague, a stranger passing by or you! I was the you part… I was you for many years and I’m so lucky to be alive! That’s why this cause is so close to my heart. Mental health is such a taboo subject, I personally have been embarrassed to talk about my past struggles. Until 2019 I was such a mess and took me years of therapy to build the Dani I am today. Years of work, tough love and growth. Last year I took on running and completely added another layer of resilience, strength, raised my self esteem, confidence, self esteem and brought my mental health to another level. A stupid park run on 11th Jan 2025 that completely changed and brought another sense of purpose to my life! I’m forever grateful for that day! If we can make a difference in someone’s life through the run today, we have served our purpose. We will continue to raise awareness and open the conversation because suicide shouldn’t be an embarrassing topic. If you suffer from poor mental health - seek help! Everyone deserves a chance at a happy life! ❤️❤️❤️ we’re in this together ❤️❤️❤️ #morethanarun #calmcharityuk #suicidepreventionawareness #marathonrunner by @iamathleteb
