Happy National Black dog day @iamblackybrown ❤️

National Black Dog Day is celebrated every year on October 1st to raise awareness and encourage the adoption of dark-coated dogs.

What is Black Dog Syndrome?
• The Phenomenon: Black dogs often wait longer in animal shelters and face higher euthanasia rates than lighter-colored pets.

• Screen Bias: Dark fur makes it hard to photograph a dog’s expressive eyes and features clearly.

• Media Myths: Pop culture sometimes portrays dark dogs as aggressive or scary.

• The Numbers: Black is a dominant gene, meaning shelters often have more dark-coated dogs available

Black dogs need love too!!! #tabithabrown #animallover #blackdogs #blackybrown #adopt by @iamblackybrown
