“Sometimes if you want to see a change for the better, you have to take things into your own hands.”— Clint Eastwood2025 was one of the most challenging and transformative years of my life. The collage inspired by @orensofferdp’s is a recap of most of the projects I got to be a part of this year.It began heavy and tested me in ways I didn’t expect. Through uncertainty and the loss of comfort, I learned how much growth can come from staying present and taking risks.This year showed me who is real. It brought friendships across the world, meaningful collaborators, generous mentors, and many new skills learned.I spent time serving others: mentoring students, volunteering at homeless shelters, helping families impacted by the Palisades and Altadena fires, supporting my mom while my dad went through chemo, and spending a week in Israel with communities affected by the October 7th attacks.I traveled far and reconnected with people in ways that were magical.So thank you to 2025. I couldn’t be more grateful.Despite the challenges which there were many, I see you clearly now and understand you. I appreciate you for what you have taught me.A year defined by growth, resilience, and becoming.Let’s bring on 2026. Happy New Year! by @iambrianmorgan

Another full orbit around the sun. 36 in counting. 🌞🌎I’m grateful for every friend, family member, mentor, and collaborator who has made a positive impact on my life. I believe in staying true to my word, speaking up for what matters, and recognizing the value of friends, family and community.The journey is not always easy, fun, or anyone’s definition of perfect. Still, I have remained consistent in building a life around what I love. At the beginning of 2026, I was deeply reminded of how fragile life can be with the loss of a close friend and my father. Every day is a gift. I do my best to be of love and service through life with meaning, purpose, and the belief that both the people around me and I are ALL truly worthy. I don’t allow anyone to convince me otherwise. LOVE wins and I practice those values with every chance I get.A little over a year ago, a mentor encouraged me to pick up a Steadicam—something I never imagined I would pursue. Once I immersed myself in the craft, I felt those butterflies again. It became a rebirth of why I love storytelling, why the film industry matters so much to me, and why the community within it is so important. It is a practice built on movement, balance, discipline, trust, and the support of others.My Chicago roots will always be deeply engrained in me—from the city’s resilience and sense of community to a lifelong love for the Bulls and Bears. Some of my most meaningful memories are going to the games as a child.This year, I lost two people that gave me lots of love in my life. We spent many times watching films and going to sports games together. I now can carry their love, energy, and belief in me everytime I step into the steadicam rig. I dedicate this next chapter of my practice to them.I continue to move forward—grounded by the people I love, strengthened by my community, and grateful for the opportunity to keep telling stories. Happy New Year! 2026 here we go.I closed out the year somewhere completely unexpected and to my surprise… I was very glad I made the trip. I was originally going to just post photos & saw this as an opportunity to bring to life some of what I saw.Walking through Imaginarium Presents: Land of Oz at Fairplex felt like entering into a full-scale dream world. Millions of lights stretched across the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, towering installations, endless mirror rooms, and glowing environments that just kept unfolding as you move. I had a lot of fun taking pictures and exploring it.I only brought one roll of film and wish I brought more to capture this. That’s how visually overwhelming it is…Swipe through to get a sense…It felt like the perfect way to close out the year. Defying Gravity is engrained in my DNA.Open until the 4th. A highlight of my month and a half journey last year was linking up with two talented colleagues and friends in Copenhagen. We spent days filming across the city before making our way to Toruń, Poland for the EnergaCAMERIMAGE Film Festival.It was my first time in the beautiful medieval town, and I left learning the origins of gingerbread and other historical facts about this town.One year later, we’re doing it all again. New cities, familiar faces, and a tradition that’s somehow become part of the rhythm of my year. 🎅As the holiday season approaches, I hope you get the chance to honor your own traditions. Whether that means traveling far, staying close, or simply getting together with the people you love most. by @iambrianmorgan
