My true Introduction to Dolly Parton’s music and pen was via my love for Whitney Houston. It was this introduction via the masterful “I Will Always Love You” that my curiosity grew about the woman, the catalog and extraordinary life of a woman who lived as loud as the world would hold.

From films like “Steel Magnolias” & “9-5” to such classic songs as “Jolene” & “Here You Come Again” Dolly was, is and forever will be a presence and force forever etched in our history and lives.

Her philanthropic work and legacy is the true cornerstone of her life’s work and legacy. Regardless of genres Dolly has touched our lives in ways that know no boundaries.

Oakland = Home 🏠 🤎✨♥️: A Love Letter to the City That Raised me.

Oakland is a beautiful city, full of history, culture and memories for me both now new and old. It’s the city that raised me, nurtured me and gave me a firm foundation of grounding.

This visit home reminded me of where I’ve been, how far I’ve come and where I’ll go. I am so grateful, proud and blessed to be a descendant of a city that always leaves me fuller than when I arrived.

This visit was a special reminder of how you come home to be liked and loved. I am thankful for my family and friends who remain locked in and love me the way they do. I love them deep and no matter what I know they got me.
