I’m still processing becoming a new member of the one and only @recordingacademy🍾✨🎉🏆🙌🏽💃🏾

Being an independent musician and entrepreneur can be overwhelming in many ways, I know it all too well. I’m grateful for all the moments, successes, heartbreaks, and lessons that led me to this very moment.

No matter who doubts you, underestimates you, misunderstands you, or tells you “no”, trust that what’s for you, will be YOURS and arrives right on time.

In the words of @theestallion:

Hey Solflowers, family, friends, and kin ✨. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, I’m really enjoying life and focusing on building foundations for some amazing music, art, and media projects. These last 6 months have been a dream come true, blessings on blessings on blessings. Today, I got some really good news 🗞️

I’m thrilled to be part of this year’s @RecordingAcademy New Member Class and join countless creators and professionals who serve, celebrate, and advocate for music year-round.
 As a member, I’ll have the power to make a difference for my peers, the greater music community, and within my own artistic journey. The diversity of the membership is what makes the #RecordingAcademy vibrant and strong. I’m excited to contribute my unique perspective and genre as we collectively recognize musical excellence and make a lasting impact globally. #IAmTheAcademy

Note to Self 🧿✨

Remember the nights you prayed to be who you are and where you are now. Remember the hours, weeks, months, and years of devotion you spent on learning about musicians you love, sitting in awe as they bared their hearts to thousands of people. Remember you visualized that one day, you’ll be on those stages too.

How many times have you done it? Graced stage after stage, with the support of those you love and despite the ones who wish you’d fail. In the face of enemies and loved ones, you stood tall and did what God has led you to do. Every interview, every performance, and every interaction with someone who has heard your voice has been a success. Every moment was worth it all, and each time you shine even more 🌞

You better remember that you’re not here to be anything or anyone but YOU. Your purpose, your destiny, your fate, all of it is based on your relationship with Great Spirit and nothing can ever come between that. No matter the road ahead, trust that you are on YOUR path. It was always there for you to thrive and shine on, as Clara Kent, as Alexandria, and as Oka Chante Olowa.

Show One: Clara Kent Live at Light Up Night, with special guest @manibahia_ 🎄
Set Time - 5PM to 6:30PM, Downtown at the Benedum Lot Stage (Penn Ave & 7th St).

Show Two: Soul Sessions - @mumufresh with special guest Clara Kent
Set Time - 7:30PM at @augustwilsonculturalcenter

Two shows in one night and I must say, I haven’t been this excited to perform since I opened for @thundercatmusic last year. Great Spirit keeps blessing me and those I hold close, every day I am grateful. Though I have been through some really serious challenges, some pleasant and some not so pleasant, every experience has been valuable and taught me how to become accepting, compassionate, and empowered. These experiences made it possible for me to own my voice and use it for my healing as well as those kind enough to listen ❤️‍🩹

It’s always a pleasure to perform with @manibahia_ , she has been growing so much in her artistry and as a person. Very proud of you kiddo! Let’s set these stages on fire into the new year 🥳. Wait till they see what we do with @bouncehousepgh 🙌🏾

I’m so grateful to announce I have 2 amazing shows coming up for November 18th!

Not only will I be performing at Light Up Night with special guest @manibahia_, I’ll also be opening for the one and only @mumufresh at @augustwilsonculturalcenter! Her Tiny Desk performance is 🔥🙌🏾🪶✨

3 clips of a wild a night 😭🫶🏾✨
I thought I lost my phone, my head wrap almost fell off on stage, my in-ears was not working, so many little fires BUT I had a great time 🥳🎉

Thank you so much @913wyep & @thunderbirdmusichall for having me bring the Queen @erykahbadu to our stage via my own artistry. Every single band did a phenomenal job 🤩; @watertrash, @chet_vincent, @nash.v.illmusic, and @stringmachinemusic, y’all inspired me so much!

Thanks to the huge crew of talented artists and musicians, @anyahnancy, @manibahia_, @erikadenaej, @broughton412, @allenbell, @itsbrandonlehman, @sincerely.shuaa, @bass_ric, all of you pulled through those vocal rehearsals and we only had ONE FULL BAND REHEARSAL 😭✊🏾!
Truly, y’all made this happen, I was scared and nervous as hell no lie, but we did it!!!
