The last three years, I’ve been suffering in silence.

Before (and quite some time after) my surgery, every literal step felt like a mountain—
and I honestly thought I’d never reach the top.
Still, I kept showing up—body, mind, and spirit—
trusting that one day, it would all make sense.

And now… it does.

I’m beyond thrilled to announce
I’ve been cast in the @laphil & @hollywoodbowl production of “Jesus Christ Superstar”!!

Thank you to my one-in-a-million tribe for holding me down through the hardest season of my life. #IYKYK Thank you to my daughta @symone.paige for making sure fatha made it to surgery and home safely. And major shout out to @stephaniekoenig & @chrisriggi for providing a safe place for me to recover.

Thank you @officialzakiyayoung for coaching me and pushing me to go to this audition when I didn’t believe I could do it.

Thank you to Dr. Tang at Huntington Orthopedics, Select PT, @certifiedgladiatorfitness, @reneechacha and @bb.arrington for making sure my body was ready to meet this moment. 💪🏽 It TRULY took a village, y’all!!

And a HUGE thank you to @neilmeron, @bobgreenblattpics, @sergiotrujillo1, @steoremus, @jaredsstein and @thetelseyoffice for this incredible opportunity.

After stepping away from @actorsequity six years ago, this marks my first production back—
and I couldn’t think of a better stage or group of people to return with.

Catch us at THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL (😱) August 1st, 2nd and 3rd!!

Trust me…👏🏽YOU👏🏽DON’T👏🏽WANT👏🏽TO👏🏽MISS👏🏽THIS!!!!!!!!!!! The people are SQUALLING for Jesus…LITERALLY!!!!🙏🏾🔥

I hadn’t sang publicly in over a year.

Needless to say, I was hella nervous.

Thank you @bb.arrington for the recommendation and getting me out of the shell I had built, decorated and got cozy in.

Thank you @mrjaymarcus & @georgesalazar for the opportunity to be around community and safety.

Thank you @btryback for gracing the keys (and plunking the notes I couldn’t remember all night lol).

Thank you @officialzakiyayoung for being my personal TMZ and sneaking this recording.

COME FROM AWAY. True stories about the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, that welcomed 7,000 stranded airline passengers after the September 11 attacks. The local residents—known as “come from aways”—housed, fed, and embraced thousands of stranded global travelers. A true story about how we should love and care for one another.
