Statistics says 1 in 8 people are experiencing symptoms of depression—and behind every number is a real person: a real mother, a real sister, a real child, a real employee fighting a battle they may never speak about.

I know that battle because I’ve lived it.

There were days when simply getting out of bed was a victory. Days when I smiled in public but fought to recognize myself in private. But little by little, prayer by prayer, choice by choice…the light began to return.

I’m not sharing this because every day is perfect. I’m sharing it because healing is possible. Help is available. And darkness does not get the final word.

If you’re still fighting, please stay. Find someone you can trust to talk to. Stop pretending this fight is something you can face alone.Accept the help. Celebrate the small wins. You are not weak, you’re not broken, you are not alone.

The fighter in me wouldn’t let me quit—and so grateful I’m still here to tell the story.

Sometimes you have to step back—not because you quit, but because you realized your next level requires more from you.

So I got quiet.
I worked on my discipline.

No matter how heavy the season, how uncertain the road, or how dark it gets—darkness cannot overpower what God has illuminated.

Keep shining. Keep believing. Keep becoming.

I did a horrible job being a mom…

Says someone who only saw the moments I got wrong.

Someone who didn’t see the nights I cried after everybody went to sleep.
The decisions I had to make with limited options.
The times I went without so they wouldn’t have to.
The prayers I prayed because I genuinely didn’t know what else to do.

Was I a perfect mother? Absolutely not.

There were seasons when I was parenting while surviving.
Seasons when I was learning how to heal while still being responsible for raising whole human beings.
Seasons when all I could give was the best version of me that existed at that time.

And yes… there are things I would do differently.

But one thing I will NEVER do again is allow someone else to tell the story of my motherhood based on chapters they never had to live.

Because my children didn’t need a perfect mother.

They needed a mother who would keep showing up.

And THAT woman?

She did a better job than she gives herself credit for.

So to the mama replaying every mistake and wondering if she did enough…

Give yourself some grace.

You were learning too.
You were growing too.
And look at you…

Still showing up.

Now drop them kids off at school and go conquer your day!!

Quiet Wins.

Nobody noticed. But I did.

I noticed when showing up started becoming a habit.
When choosing myself stopped feeling selfish.
When I started keeping the promises I made to me.
When I got stronger.
When discipline started replacing motivation.
When I found my rhythm again.

Not everything I’m proud of came with an announcement.

Some wins happen quietly—when nobody knows how hard you had to fight just to keep going.

No applause.
No big announcement.
Just me looking at myself and realizing…

I’m not where I started anymore.

And sometimes, THAT is the win. ✨

Quiet. Steady. Certain.
