Always one of the most fun songs to play live. We were tight AF and @jukeboxjodi killed it!

LAST NIGHT WAS EPIC! What a thrill to revisit so many amazing @lunachicksofficial songs all these years later. They definitely feel different playing them in my 40’s vs being 18. Lol. Muscle memory is also fascinating, the way some things just come back like they never left.

Huge thanks to Morgan and the whole @fbomb_nyc crew for organizing, and to all the incredible singers that stepped up and RAWKED out. Y’all were so badass!

And to the band… ugh, a dream! Tight AF, loud, proud, and 1000% amazing. It was beyond incredible to play with all of you. BIG LOVE. ❤️

Time to rest and put ice packs everywhere. Can’t wait to do it again. Hopefully soon!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Catch me drumming for this incredible Lunachicks tribute later this month on Sat, Nov 23rd! I’m exactly twice the age I was when I last played these songs on tour, so this should be fun. Lol.

Such great bands on the bill, too. Can’t wait to see you all there!

It was 25 years ago, probably almost to this day, that I started rehearsing with @lunachicksofficial in preparation for a two month tour, “Go Kart Across America” with co-support @downbylawband opening for the legendary @the_official_buzzcocks

I was an 18 year old kid, I’d just come out as gay 4 months prior, and despite growing up in NYC, I was not prepared for the twists and turns my life was about to take.

To say that tour was an education is an understatement. Not only did it teach me discipline, in terms of having to be at 100% for every show because people were counting on me. But the fans also had their expectations of what they were going to hear (hello performing under pressure), and I didn’t want to disappoint them. Overall, this tour in particular, since it was my very first, taught me professionalism and greatly improved my musicianship. All valuable lessons that I’ve applied in life, both in my other musical endeavors and in general.

The time I spent on this tour was unforgettable. I still remember having my SONY Discman in my bunk on our tour bus, and the two albums I had on repeat that had just been released were, “Make Yourself” by @incubusofficial and “Happiness is Not a Fish You Can Catch” by @ourladypeace So random, and so not punk rock. 😂 But it was the 90’s. We did what we wanted to.

This time of year always reminds me of those touring days. Oh, the memories! Like dying our hair in a motel bathroom in Arizona and staining the tub so badly we paid in cash and GTFO. 😂 Or 💩 in a plastic bag because you could only pee in the tour bus toilet. It was such a great time!

A huge thank you to @ginavolpemusic @theokogan and @sydneyleesilver for trusting some 18 year old kid to be part of your legacy. It’s an honor. ❤️
