Book of the Week: Sales EQ by Jeb Blount

This book changed the way I think about sales. One of the biggest lessons I learned is that great salespeople don't just know what to say—they know what questions to ask. The right questions keep prospects engaged and help uncover what really matters to them.

Another lesson that stood out is that if you can't build trust, it doesn't matter how good your product or service is—people won't buy. Trust always comes first.
It also reinforced how important first impressions are. The way you present yourself and the way you communicate can completely change the outcome of a conversation.

Overall, this book gave me a much deeper understanding of sales psychology and how people make decisions. If you're in sales, own a business, or simply want to become a better communicator, I highly recommend adding this one to your reading list. by @iamdoce

Such an amazing anual meeting.

Every year is special, more growth, more confidence and more confirmation that I am where I need to be when it comes to what I do for a living.

Truly the best company in the industry and im happy to know I will never have to feel bad for putting my clients with Northwestern mutual.

Took me 11 years to go back, idk why.

This trip was special to me:
- My father met my kids for the first time
- I visited my grand parents grave for the first time
- I took my son places my dad took me as a kid
- I saw family memebers that I had over a decade without seeing

This trip changed my life, it was needed and now i cant wait to go back again. Thank you God for allowing me to see my father and family members I promise to not wait so long next time. by @iamdoce

Book of the week: The War of Art by Steven Pressfield.

This book completely shifted the way I look at creativity, discipline, and business. One of the top performers in my company recommended it during our annual meeting while he was presenting, and I’m glad I listened.

The biggest takeaway for me was realizing that creativity isn’t just about art — it’s about showing up consistently, pushing through resistance, and using your gifts to build something meaningful. As someone focused on growing businesses and creating new ideas, this book challenged me to stop overthinking and start executing.

If you’re building something, chasing a vision, or fighting procrastination and self-doubt, I highly recommend reading this book. It’s a powerful reminder that growth happens when you do the work, even when you don’t feel like it. by @iamdoce

Before vs after ➡️

Having brothers taught me three things that shaped the advisor and leader I am today:

1️⃣ That iron sharpens iron, and the people closest to you should push you to be better, not let you stay comfortable.
2️⃣ That trust is built in the small moments, the late night talks, the showing up when no one is watching, the keeping your word.
3️⃣ That real success is shared success, because what is the point of building if the people you love cannot build with you.

The same lessons that came from growing up alongside my brothers are the same ones I carry into every client conversation today, because finance is a people business before it is a numbers business. I learned how to lead, listen, and protect the people I love long before I ever learned how to read a balance sheet.

When we talk about familia, this is exactly what we mean. ✍🏼

This is more than business. It’s brotherhood. It’s showing up for each other, day in and day out, whether it’s in the office, in the field, or in life.

We’re grateful to be part of something bigger than ourselves. A mission that stretches beyond what we can see, but one we feel in every conversation, every win, and every moment we get to grow together.

They say don’t do business with family but if this is what it looks like, then this has been one of the greatest blessings.

"The Four Agreements"

This book taught me a lot:
-It helped me understand more about myself and the power I possess within.

-The Power God gave me to control the outcome of my life if living with intention.

-Understanding that sometime going with the flow is good as long as we are mindful of not drifting.

Who id recommend this book to:
1. Someone looking to learn more about themselves
2. People who are motivated to improve personally and professionally
3. Anyone looking to be leaders and successfull.

Reading is important, but more important is what you read. The knowledge is in the books, I recommend reading a few chapters a day can improve your personal and professional life.
