When they close 12 doors, you only need ONE to walk through. πŸŽ“ Check out my recent conversation on Cousin Ed’s Corner where we discuss Black excellence, persistence, and the reality of the healthcare field. ✊🏽 Tap the link in my bio to listen! πŸ”— #cousinedscornerpodcast #doctorofphysicaltherapy #dpt #explore #physiotherapy by @iamdrharris
In Today’s Episode, we’re celebrating Black Excellence and the power of refusing to take β€œNO” for an answer. Today, I’m welcoming a brand new family member to the Corner β€” Dr. Cristen Harris, who just earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy after being rejected by 12 out of 13 schools, being told by her own advisors to change her major, working FIVE jobs at once, and tearing her ACL on a volleyball scholarship. This isn’t just about becoming a doctor β€” it’s about US, our persistence, and proving that when they close 12 doors, you only need ONE to walk through. Dr. Harris keeps it all the way real about being one of the only ones in the room β€” only 5% of physical therapists are Black β€” and why she shares her story publicly: because somebody coming up behind her needs the blueprint she never had. Her message to every young dreamer out there? β€œYou’re just as smart as the other person in the room. If you want it, go get it.” Tap in to embrace the wisdom: linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment about a dream somebody tried to talk YOU out of, and share how you kept pushing anyway! Then call the Corner line at 762-333-2032 and leave Dr. Harris a congratulations voicemail β€” I’ll play it back on a future show. We can’t sit on the sidelines while our youth do great things β€” we have to encourage them! Let’s keep building and celebrating our community’s wins together. πŸ’ͺ🏾 Connect with Cousin Ed: 762-333-2032 or @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms. Follow Dr. Harris on Instagram at IAmDrHarris and TikTok at CristenDiarra. Cousin Ed’s Corner is not just about motivation β€” we’re living it. Share this with a young queen who needs to see what’s possible! πŸ‘‘ It’s not just a podcast, it’s a Community. by @iamdrharris
