She is free 💔

Our hearts are shattered beyond words. It is with immense pain and heart-shattering grief, that I share the passing of my mother, our matriarch, grandmother, great grand mother, aunt, cousin, my rider, my Soror, my Momma, my Lil Thuggie: Algelee Copeland.

A piece of my heart left with her and I will never be the same without her.

Thank You for laughing with me as I shared Lil Thuggie with you over the years. Thank You Rossi Myers for giving mom outstanding care and preserving her dignity.

Please allow me and my family the time and space to grieve during this most difficult time. I will share more information later in the week.

Yesterday was a day of healing, celebration, fellowship, and love. We came together to eat drink and be merry. We surrounded our elders-mother and godmother, with love. We showed them that they matter to us by spending quality time with them. Nothing else mattered.

I give mom time everyday after work and check in during work. We celebrate them not because we have to, but because we want to. We want them to know that even when they’re not at their best and may never be again, they still matter. We are taking it from here and you are loved and we hope it shows. Embrace your parents, Godparents and loved ones. We make time for everything else and one day, they won’t be here. Once they’re gone, they’re gone: The quote, “I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again” these words are attributed to Stephen Grellet (1773–1855). Blessings to all who read this. 🙏🏽

Who remembers Regency Mall? Mannnnn talking about the good old days. It would be great to have two malls again.

When Regency mall closed, it made me feel like Augusta wasn’t used to having too much of a good thing, like we could only manage and focus on one mall.
