Our 6th Annual Stoop Service was one for the books!

Worship on the street.
Prayer on the corner.
Baptisms in the open.
Community all around us.

For six years, God has allowed Institutional International Ministries to take ministry beyond the four walls and bring it right to the people.

For more than 75 years, Institutional has been a beacon of faith, hope, and community in the heart of Brooklyn.

This September, the corner of Adelphi Street & Myrtle Avenue will officially be co-named “Bishop Carl E. Williams Way” in honor of our founder Bishop Carl E. Williams Sr. and his son Bishop Carl E. Williams Jr. — two leaders whose faith, vision, and service helped shape generations.

This moment belongs to every member, every family, every life touched by Institutional.

We invite Institutional members past and present, family, friends, and supporters to celebrate this historic moment with us.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to my grandfather. You would have been 96 today.

Happy birthday, Papa. I love you so much. I miss you every single day. It hasn’t even been a year yet, and there are so many mixed emotions, but I hold onto the hope and promise that one day we will meet again.

“The memory of the righteous is blessed.” Proverbs 10:7

You were so much more than just my grandfather. You were my true mentor, my true hero, and my greatest example of what it means to be a man.

You wore many hats in my life. Grandfather. Father. Pastor. Bishop. Teacher. Covering. You were always pouring wisdom into me, always trying to prepare me for life.

One thing you used to say that will stay with me forever
“I’m trying to take my whole life as a course and crash it into a fast course for you to understand.”

That meant everything to me then, and it means even more now.

We did not always see eye to eye, but I never questioned your love. I never questioned your care. I never questioned that you wanted the absolute best for me.

I cherish the relationship we had. I miss you deeply. I wish I could still call you. I wish I could still sit and listen to your wisdom. But I carry your lessons, your prayers, and your example with me every single day.

I will continue striving to become the man you showed me how to be.

Wow wow wow. I’m honestly just honored on any day to get wisdom, direction, and insight from someone like Bishop Harris. But to get that on my birthday, that’s a gift all by itself.

It’s been a crazy year. A lot has happened. Some of it good, some of it not so good. But through it all, God has still been faithful. And today, I’m just grateful for life, for grace, and for another year.

Is everything perfect? Nah. But every day above ground is a good day. And I’m learning to appreciate the journey and the people God has placed around me to help along the way.

Bishop Harris is one of those people. To be able to sit with him today, to receive wisdom, clarity, and direction for where I’m headed next, that means a lot to me.
