My journey to becoming an Emmy award winning filmmaker has been a rollercoaster ride of boldness, fearlessness, and unapologetic Black pride. Over the past 20 years, I've stared into the unknown, pushed past fear, and emerged fulfilled. This award isn't just a title, it's a testament to the power of taking risks and trusting in the unknown. As I continue to create, I'm driven to craft art that humanizes, electrifies, and innovates, remaining a voice for those who've been silenced. by @iamemicheaux

“Being a filmmaker is learning to trust the voice within you, even when the world hasn’t heard it yet. Every frame is a reflection of how I see, feel, and interpret the world. My creativity is my language, and film is how I make that language speak beyond me.” by @iamemicheaux

This past spring, I met an incredible woman whose story captivated me so deeply that I knew I had to tell it alongside the stories of those on the front lines fighting to save the lives of children.

Please take a moment to watch and share this with anyone who would be inspired by Carol Doe Porter and the mission of Kid Care Inc. This is for those who want to help, as well as fellow leaders who understand the unique, uphill battles of running a children’s charity.

“The Price of Saving Kids” is a profound examination of what it truly means to be a charity on a frontline crusade. The film dives deep into the systemic hurdles, political weaponization, and intense scrutiny that grassroots leaders face when they step in where the system fails. Expanding past the Porters’ loss, the documentary introduces a new vanguard of modern grassroots organizations. Operating with the same fierce determination as Kid-Care, these contemporary leaders are on their own high-stakes quests to ensure future generations can thrive.

With this piece @afightfortimefilm i hope it moves you to stop asking ‘What’s wrong with you?’ and start asking ‘What happened to you?’ Of those individuals who are incarcerated or formally incarcerated. Mass incarceration and the trap of ‘conditional freedom’ does not just institutionalize, it forces people into a perpetual Fight for Time. #socialjustice #filmmaker #massincarceration #fyp #discovery by @iamemicheaux
