In 2019, I was a 21 year old clueless kid going about my summer internship at a construction company. I was bored out of my mind and secretly pulled out my phone in my cubicle to put on my headphones, pretending I was listening to music. 🎶But actually… I was listening to podcasts on topics I was truly interested in. I came across a conversation with @drjoedispenza & @aubreymarcus and I was completely in awe of what I was learning while I was mindlessly scrolling through excel tables. 📈 Something deep altered within me that day. That moment itself seeded the idea to start my own podcast and begin to have first hand conversations with my heroes. I was done following the path that everyone tells us we have to go on: college, internship, 9-5 job, house, car, etc. In 2021, I met Dr Joe for the first time. For our first podcast together, I was in awe of what was unfolding before me. I had a flashback of that time I had zero motivation in my internship, but the teachings of this man sparked something within me. ⚡️My only hope for this podcast is that someone like my past self finds the same inspiration and inner strength to shift their reality and truly pursue their hearts core. Our second conversation with Dr Joe is more raw, vulnerable and personal. To me, it’s personal because since 2021 I have been able to fully immerse myself in his formula, and I know that it works.Also, this time Dr Joe opens up about his own transformation journey in his 20s, which is very relatable yet unique. One of the deepest spiritual teachings in Star Wars has nothing to do with lightsabers, the Force, or becoming a Jedi.It’s this conversation between Yoda and Anakin.Anakin is haunted by visions of losing someone he loves, Padme. Like most of us, he believes the suffering comes from the possibility of loss itself. But Yoda points to something much deeper:“Fear of loss is a path to the dark side.”In other words, suffering doesn’t begin when we lose something.It begins when we become attached to an outcome and start trying to control what life was never asking us to control.The more Anakin tries to prevent the future, the more he creates the very future he fears.And if we’re honest, we’ve all done this.We’ve tried to hold on to relationships that were changing.We’ve tried to force timelines that weren’t unfolding naturally.We’ve tried to control outcomes because we were afraid of what might happen if we let go.What makes this scene so timeless is that it’s not really about Anakin.It’s about us.For thousands of years, spiritual traditions around the world have pointed to the same truth: attachment creates suffering.
