Seven years ago this week, #spiritualfertility entered the world.

At the time, I thought I was publishing a book about fertility.

Looking back, I can see I was writing about something much larger.

The day of its release was a full thunder moon in July… a good sign. I left my home alone for a quiet hotel in the Berkshires. During the day, I was introducing the book through Hay House. Behind the scenes, I was taking the first legal steps toward ending my marriage. One life was opening as another was came to an end.

Almost no one knew both stories were unfolding at once.

Writing Spiritual Fertility became the place where I found myself again. It reminded me that even when life feels stripped to the bone, something within us still knows how to grow.

Over the past seven years, this book has found its way into the hands of women longing to become mothers, women grieving pregnancies, women navigating divorce, burnout, illness, and profound life transitions, and women who simply knew they could no longer keep living the story they had inherited. Together we discovered that spiritual fertility is never only about creating a child. It is about cultivating the courage to create a different future.

Your letters have stayed with me. So have your reviews, your photographs of dog-eared pages, and the stories you’ve trusted me to hold. They have taught me that healing ripples through families, relationships, and generations. Every time one person chooses to tell the truth about their life, something begins to change for everyone who comes after them.

Looking back now, I realize Spiritual Fertility was the first thread in everything I have created since. It led me more deeply into the study of inherited trauma, ancestry, grief, resilience, and the invisible stories we carry in our bodies. It eventually became What We Carry.

Seven years later, I feel even more certain that every one of us has a manifesto waiting to be written. Every family has a story waiting to be understood. Every life holds the possibility of becoming more generous, more honest, and more free than the one we inherited.

ORIGINAL ART = HEALTHY HEART. Viewing original artworks can significantly reduce stress, improve heart health, and strengthen the immune system, according to groundbreaking research by King’s College London, the Guardian reports. The study, the first of its kind, measured the physiological responses of 50 participants aged 18 to 40 as they viewed paintings by Manet, Van Gogh, and Gauguin . Half of the participants experienced the original works at London’s Courtauld Gallery, while the others viewed reproductions elsewhere. During the 20-minute sessions, researchers monitored heart rates, skin temperature, and hormone levels. Those viewing original artworks showed a 22 percent drop in cortisol, the primary stress hormone, compared to only 8 percent among those seeing copies. Levels of inflammatory markers IL-6 and TNF-alpha, both linked to chronic diseases, also fell by 30 percent and 28 percent, respectively, suggesting a strong anti-inflammatory response. The findings revealed that viewing art simultaneously engages the immune, endocrine, and nervous systems, promoting both physical and emotional wellbeing. by @iamfinleyofficial

👁️‍🗨️ L’opera, realizzata sulla facciata dell’Istituto Comprensivo di Via S. Pincherle, è stata resa accessibile anche a chi non vede grazie alla versione tattile donata alla scuola: un invito concreto a prendersi cura della salute visiva fin da giovani.

🏫 Studenti, insegnanti, comunità e istituzioni insieme per un messaggio chiaro: prevenzione, consapevolezza e partecipazione migliorano la qualità della vita, dallo studio allo sport.
