Not an expert: just reclaiming strength from broken pieces, one post at a time.

I am not always confident: not in my body, some days not even in the outfit I chose that morning. Skirts, sure. Pants are their own negotiation. Not in my relationships, if I’m honest. Certainly not in who I am now, past the job title I wore for thirty years.

Confidence isn’t something we arrive at once and keep: it’s work, and some days it depends on the body we’re in, the room we’re in, who’s across from us.

But there’s a version of us who doesn’t wait for anyone else to decide: we all have her, the one who didn’t play around, who moved before her feelings caught up, who did the thing before overthinking got a vote. Some days it takes real effort to go find her again.

So we call on her, here: to name the big feelings we don’t say out loud, to stop letting everyone else decide who we are, to choose ease over chaos, and to finally take our time-rebuilding after the title, the role, the years of putting ourselves last.
