Jayson, There’s something very peaceful about knowing you’re no longer in pain, but selfishly speaking, I miss you terribly. You had a smile that would light up a room and a knack for creating a safe space everywhere you went. The type of swagger that people struggle to emulate. You did it effortlessly. Your kindness was unwavering, and your candor was unmatched. You were my first friend when I moved to Sugar Land and quickly became one of my oldest friends. From riding the school bus to carpooling when either one of us didn’t feel like driving. Going to visit each other at our respective universities to planning post grad trips. To playing wordle and connections every night. In January, I had the privilege of celebrating you and your beautiful wife’s union. What a time. What a life. I will always cherish the time we had. Thank you for being a friend and becoming my little big brother. I love you so much. by @iamgerrii

I’ve been very quiet the past 6 months, but I now understand that silence gets you nowhere. To the survivors who have to wake up everyday and a face the world while having to deal with the aftermath of something so heinous, please know that silence keeps you trapped. And that’s what abusers want. Don’t get them that power.I’m in the process of changing my life.
