I watched women & men like @iamnialong @jlo @chadwickboseman @marcusgarvey_official @issarae @michelleobama @bobmarley @jenniferhudsonshow @oprah @kandi @tylerperry and I am in awe of the possibilities- not because they are minorities but because they are minorities who pushed through lack and created a life they can enjoy while making impact during their time here on earth!

It’s bout to get really judgy, sorry in advance ( I’m just the messenger)…

We have truly become a generation where the idea of hard becomes a road block for greatness. We are harder than any obstacle!!!

I don’t know who this message is for, but you were made for greatness- don’t give up just because it’s not as easy as it looked when someone else did it.

It always looks easy when you’re not the one in the ring- but that doesn’t mean the life you’ve dreamed of is out of reach!

I don’t know who needs this message but- he loves you in spite of your flaws- anything and everything you want out of life can be yours with faith, consistency, & discipline.

I’m no where near where I’d like to be but I’m hella far from where I use to be- both figuratively & literally!

Yes, I need women who tell me to rest.

No, I don’t need women around me who tell me to be less.

Those are not the same.

Listen, I’m a workaholic. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I know some of it is parentification. Some of it is programming—the part of me that learned early to be responsible, useful and the one who gets it done.

Which translates into me… pouring into my business, career, my children and my family. And I’m learning to pour back into myself with that same intention.

I’m reprogramming the belief that rest has to be earned.

I am not reprogramming the part of me that executes when God gives me a vision.

I love when my obedience becomes evidence for another woman that she can move on what God placed inside her too (with kids, a husband, career, business and/or whatever responsibilities society says should stop her)

I don’t want to shrink that.

I want sisterhood mature enough to know the difference between protecting my fire and putting it out.

The right women will say:

Pause. Eat. Sleep. Let us help carry something. Here is what I did. Let me connect you to. Think like this instead.

They will not say:

Be smaller. Want less. Shine quieter.

One is helping you recharge.

The other is asking you to dim your light.

Women with their own assignment don’t get weird about yours.

They clap.
They laugh.
They ask what’s next.
They sharpen you—and they care enough to make sure you don’t disappear inside your calling.

That’s the kind of community I create @itshumanaf

Not women who only look good together in a picture.

Women who protect both the woman and the vision.

Because the right room won’t make you choose between being well and being powerful.

Successful on Paper. Human in Real Life.

One thing about us—we will not be quiet on no creek…

But this is bigger than finding our voices.

It is giving ourselves permission to be imperfect and still powerful.

To be the same woman at work, in business, at home and in the rooms where nobody needs anything from us.

To ask for help before we are falling apart.
 To say no when you don’t have the capacity or you’re not feeling it. To set boundaries even when people do not understand them.
 To intentionally release relationships that keep draining the life out of you.

It is letting go of the picture-perfect version of womanhood that has us trying to be everything, for everyone, all the time.

We are not dropping the ball.
We are simply done playing every position at the expense of our peace, growth, health and livelihood.

We are done shrinking.  Done dimming our light. Done forcing ourselves to fit into rooms we have already outgrown.

The next season requires community.
Expansion.
Conversation.
Depth.
Love.
Faith.
Support.

And we are done pretending we need “no new friends” when the next season of our lives requires women who understand the weight, have the capacity and genuinely want to see one another rise.

No gatekeeping. No performing. No competing over who can carry the most without breaking.

Just honest conversations, meaningful connection, shared wisdom, sharper strategy and women helping women rise.

That is HumanAF.

Being strong enough to carry the vision—and everyone connected to it.

14 years of blessings. Learning, growing, stretching and pouring.

Twins weren’t on the long list of “things” I wanted in this lifetime, but God knew it was what I needed.

You two came and completed our “little family” as my mom would call it.

I’m so thankful that God chose me to be your mother, and pray you both continue to show up boldly, with audacity, authenticity and love.

2016, ten years ago.

Graduating w/ a double masters felt like a win.
The kids were little.
Climbing the career ladder was a must.
And everything felt like it would be there forever.

Time has a way of revealing who you really are and what really matters.

Same heart.
Deeper faith.
More truth.
More rooms.

I didn’t become louder, I became more aligned

And we’re just getting started @itshumanaf
